I don't know if this will be of any help to you, but what works best for us when our cat goes 'walkies' is to open a tin of tuna and put it on the doorstep...
usually has Ginger coming back in no time.
Hope s/he turns up soon!0 -
Thanks folks, still no sign of her.
I'm really really worried now.
She isn't chipped. Some of the neighbours are keeping an eye out for her. If she doesn't come back tonight I'll get some posters made up and start ringing around. My son's been walking up and down the street shaking her biscuits and shouting on her for ages.
I think I'll go and try the tuna trick now, as anytime I open a tin she usually comes running. Hadn't thought of it before, but will go and give it a try now.
Thanks to everyone for their ideas and nice messages.0 -
Oh, I am sorry.
But still FAR FAR too soon to despair.
I really hope we are all posting "welcome home" messages any time now.
She could be shut in somwhere.(my own cat was shut in my own garage for a couple of day, she'd hidden at the back in fright when we had coal delivered to the bunker in there Thats very noisy and scary. She was just so scared she didnt even respond to our calls)
Another time she was in a neighbours garage for 4 days.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
Hi
really feel for you BUT you have to have hope, most posts on here about lost cats usually end happily!
Posters, knocking on doors, let everyone know ! Late night walks calling her name when it's quiet and she has a better chance of hearing you (or you have a better chance of hearing her call back!) Hoover bag yes!
It has happened to me so I know just how worried you must be......for my darling little (not so bright!) tigga, but he found his way back even though we had not long moved house!
Post on all the web sites and also on your local freegle group if allowed.YNWA JFT96 :A0 -
Yes, do EVERYTHING which you've been advised to do in this thread already. Call at all neighbours' houses and ask the to check outbuildings and sheds while you wait. Some people say they will check but then forget or can't be bothered. Don't forget about going out late in the evening when it's quiet and calling her name and waiting for her to answer you.
DO NOT DESPAIR! I can't count the number of lost and escaped cat threads we've had on here where pusscat has been found or returned home eventually and I'm sure that yours will too.
Please keep us posted, won't you?0 -
Hi all, still no sign of my wee Jinky.
I know it's early days, but I can't help worrying.:o
I've put her litter tray outside, scattered the contents of the hoover bag over the front and back garden, left an open tin of tuna on the doorstep, walked about shaking her biscuits and calling her name, chapped all the neighbours doors and posted on facebook. I don't think there's much more I can do at the moment but sit and wait in my freezing cold house with all the windows and doors opened incase she comes back lol!
Thanks again everyone and you'll be the first to know WHEN she comes back!;)0 -
Good luck, I hope you are reunited with Jinky very very soon.
Another trick is to wait until it is very quiet outside and then go outside with your box of biscuits. Give them lots of good rattleS, then slowly open a tin of tuna or cat food, and then slowly but loudly decant the food into one of her bowls. If you make any particular noises or say any particular words or phrases when normally feeding her then use those.
Fingers Xed she comes back this evening.0 -
Keeping everything crossed that she comes back soon.
Don't give up and keep positive.
Just to reiterate what b&t said, keeping knocking on doors and posting leaflets. I have said this before but we asked our neighbours to check their gardens, they did but did not look thoroughly enough. OH had a sixth sense and jumped the fence to check himself and found our moggy under the trees (totally different for us as she was poorly but make sure people check sheds and garages and things that may have been closed behind Jinky, if you can, offer to check yourself).0 -
Don't forget to tell all the kids in the neighbourhood to keep an eye out for her, too! They get all over while they're out playing and they hardly miss a thing! Maybe sweeten it and say there's a tenner up for grabs for whoever gives info that leads to you finding her ... they'll definitely keep their eyes open then while they're out and about!0

My parents cat went missing too this week but has just returned this evening, so don't give up hope.
