Hmmmmmm, someone remind me. Do the Tories *like* single parents on benefits???I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

However i need to knw before i commit to anything
You're about 7 months too late for that.will him moving in with me affect the benefits i already get as I am getting stressed out about money and supporting us should my benefits get affected and would really like to knw beforehand what i am expected to live on should it affect what i already recieve.
Your partner's income. It's called a relationship. Lots of people manage it without resorting (or even having the option to resort) to benefit fraud.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

I get no child support from my sons father and to be quite frank I dont want it, we have been fine without so will keep it this way.
What you mean is that you don't need your ex's money because you get enough of it from us taxpayers :mad:I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

From what I understand of the situation, you'd probably get a housing benefit and council tax benefit increase. Your partner would lose his JSA and you would lose any tax credits for child care as he, not working, would be expected to look after any children. You'd probably be worse of slightly than if you were claiming seperately. I don't believe it'd be much though. Please don't take my word for it, I may be wrong.
Good luck with the wee one. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

There wouldn't be any LHA increase when a partner moves in and, although the OP will lose her 25% CT discount, this won't matter as she doesn't pay this anyway.0 -
Thanks BCS, I know its how it is viewed but some people think they are allowed to look down there nose and judge, not you mind. My partner is looking for work and hopefully will get back into work he has had a job all his working life. I think I will just have to update my status and deal with what comes our way, hopefully I wont loose the house or money I use to keep my son happy. Benefit Fraud is a harsh word, as he is not working anyway, he is not my sons father and has no obligation to take on payments for my son, his money comes via child tax credit. There is the option to opt for a council house but with a 15 year waiting list its a long way off!! xx
Going by your BF's previous posts regarding the flat you rent together and the repairs he does on it, I think that benefit fraud is a very appropriate word and the sooner you regularise your situation with benefits the better!0 -

I have a 40" Sony flat screen and was wondering does anyone know the best place to get TV brackets so I can put it on the wall (out of harms and dirty hands way), I have looked around and it seems the average price I seem to find is between £80 - £100. I dont want anything to cheap as I wouldnt want to risk the TV falling down of course, but with so much money going on baby stuff and the decorating of the rest of the house my hands are tied at the mo, any ideas.

Jobless With Debts
Hi Guys and Girls,
I Lost my job through dismissal (which I am looking into for unfair dismissal), on Jan 26th. I have activly been seeking employment and it feels unreal as I have been working since I was 16 without any gaps. I signed into the local job centre for the first time in my life on Monday, have arranged JSA (Job Seekers Allowance), which I was quite embarassed about, never thought I be in this position. However, with out some form of financial income I would have nothing to live off, I have no savings or any form of money to fall back on. my partner is 6 months pregnant and she works very few hours, but does her bit bless her. Prior to all this I spun debts out of control. I was getting things back to a realistic level I could afford to repay, but now I am seriously worried. I have a Barclaycard run up, A barclay Loan, an Egg Loan, and an overdraft. This are my main outgoings the rest I can cast off (mobile, Sky etc). I have been to the CAB (Citizan Advise) 3 times first thing in the morning and they have not been able to see me. My next set of direct debits come out between the 26th and the 1st of the following month, I have nothing to pay them with and have no idea on the steps I need to take, I do not want to bury my head in the sands, I have no PPI on any of the loans cards etc. I want to get this sorted and want to pay them but if I dont have the funds I simply cant pay.
Has anyone been in this position, before that can advise what they did, how long everthing takes to be put into play, what steps I should/need to be taking.
Im dreading seeing demand and debt collection letters falling through the front door, knowing as things stand I can do nothing. Please give a very worried man some help.
Many thanks Tom
This sheds more light on the situation as well. :eek:I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.
