GnB I am shocked to read of the lack of concern being shown to you and your family over this situation. I found this on the directgov website which might be of use, there are loads of links to follow that will give you the guidance you need in pursuing this via the correct channels. HTH

If you are not happy about your child's school or education and want to make a formal complaint, you should get a copy of the school's complaints procedure (all maintained schools must have one) and follow the procedure on it as a first step.
If you think your child has been seriously harmed or sexually assaulted, you can complain straight away to the police or your local authority's social services department.

I hope things get resolved quickly to your and your daugther's satisfaction.

If they refuse to see you and sort this out ASAP i'd be tempted to say keep your daughter out of school until this bully is removed, for her own safety.

Well i had a metting with the head today after school. Was a bit of a challenge getting past the secretary though - i think they try and make you feel as inconvenient as they possibly can! As soon as i mentioned why i was there, and that the head had actually asked me to come in i was seen very quickly.

Meeting didn't take long, head basically said boy had been moved and spoken to at length along with his mother. Teacher is aware of my concerns and is monitoring the situation closely.
Also head told my daughter that if she has any problems with the boy she is to go and speak to him directly.

My daughter said she had a nice day at school today for the first time in a while as horrible boy wasnt near her all day:A

Grrr, asked LO if she had a good day at school today and she said it was ok, except that horrible boy was sitting beside her in class:mad: I feel another chat coming on....

The best of luck gunsandbanjos. It is terrible that this is happening to your daughter and I hope it can be sorted quickly. My eldest son is dyslexic and was bullied at school (until he got bigger than the bullies). I had problems getting the school to act at first, but found the information and advice given on the kidscape website very useful. I'm afraid I can't post links, but google brings up the website. I also called The National Bullying Helpline when my son came home and told me he would rather be dead than go back to school. They gave me lots of practical advice and support. In the end I went and sat in reception and refused to move until it was sorted. Thankfully that worked. There is lots of help out there I promise.
    I hope that helps.
  • And a pointed question as to whether you should take the matter up with the board of governors and the education authority in that your disabled child is being denied her right to an education because she is at risk of being attacked by the boy concerned.

The chat obviously didn't work, you were given a sop to make you shut up which lasted what - 24 hours? You've now got a choice, put up with being repeatedly fobbed off or go over his head.

Personally I wouldn't be sending my child into school tomorrow, I'd be ringing the Local Authority to tell them that I would be unable to send her back to school without significant assurances that the school will address the risk their lack of care poses to her health and safety.
