Please do try to stop worrying and just take care of yourself, you really need to do this because when I was pregnant with my firstborn I was very wound up and stressed, not work related but due to anti-social persecution we were on the receiving end of at our home. Because I was so stressed, my waters broke 4 weeks early and baby came at 36 weeks. It is really not doing you any good and you must try forget it. I would even recommend getting away for a while to stay with family or friends so that you are not sitting at home dwelling on things. Best wishes and take care of yourself and baby. xxx

Just an update re work. Done my usually weekly call to tell superiors, to advise how I am and spoke to Regional Managers PA. She was dead nice.

Then 2 minutes later she called back and asked if Regional Manager could arrange a home visit, as next Thurs I will have been off sick 4 weeks. I dont know if this is a good or bad thing and I am even more stressed out. Have left a message for union rep to call me. But I am stressed to the max. I want to go back to work but I am so worried what will happen to me.

Do you know whether home visits are part of the Company's standard sickness policy?

They are but I thought it was at Managers discretion after speaking to HR. And it would kick in usually at 4 weeks.

Don't read more than there is in it, you are close to 4 weeks, and if that's normal practice you would expect them to visit you at home.

Hope you don't mind me butting in here, but had to say the most important thing in your life now and for the rest of your life, too, is your baby. No matter what happens with your job, one day you will be watching your child sway towards you taking his or her first steps or watching them in a school play, and you'll not give the bank a second thought. The job is peanuts, it's nothing, compared to your child. Don't worry about the money. If the worst comes to the worst, jobwise, remember unemployed people can raise good, happy children in good, happy families (and without childcare costs) - although you will probably find a better job once you've had a break, got yourself organised, and looked around for one. You could be on the brink of a new, much happier way of life. Just do what's best for baby and enjoy your time away from those fools.

you need to get a bit of a grip as you are doing any good for you or the baby.

Home visits are normal, and you can request a neutral venue if you don't want them at your home, comes under reasonable adjustments.

I had to have this last year after being off sick 4 weeks, i was very ill and very ashamed that my home looked like a pit (have MS)
so i chose a hotel at the end of the road, as i felt safer there with my union rep, out in the public felt safer for me.

your union rep should work with you to chose a day suitable for both of you, as i would advise not to see anyone without someone there as a witness, and just to take notes just in case you forget anything that has been said at the meeting.

Remember they want to see you due to your reason being off sick, don't get into conversations about problems at work, don't get talked into taking maternity leave too early, sounds like your doctor will make sure you are off sick right up to maternity leave time.

So chill out, relax, put your feet up and stop worrying, you need to be building your strength for the baby
