    Hi Nicki

Right at this moment - I would do what your Union Rep says - ie get yourself better and then fight your case.

I know its very frustrating that sometimes things take time - but it was only 24 hours ago that it was very clear that your mind was going round in ever-decreasing circles and you were feeling very panicky. All totally understandable...

So - for right now - I would give it a bit of time personally. Wait for "the dust to settle" in your mind a bit. Sometimes - when things arent at the forefront of one's mind - then a really constructive angle on things/way forward can "surface". It really is best sometimes to just "switch off" as best one can and get on with other things - best for you generally and best from the point of view that a mind that isnt racing endlessly "round the same circuit" can sometimes come up with a really constructive/positive way to view something that it cant do if its just "racing round and round" focusing purely on the matter at stake.

I do have some idea how you feel - and really..honestly...I've sometimes just thought "Leave my subconscious mind to it and it might come up with something useful - whilst I just get on with other things". Its surprising how often that works - and it certainly makes you feel better not to be endlessly focusing on the same problem ... really....:)

Put your health first, or you wont be able to fight your corner at all...

A job is a job, but your mental health is far more precious.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

  • Text your colleagues back, as keeping contact with them is important for both your health and in case they may be able to help you in some way later. But only the ones you get on with, not the nasty ones.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

..and further thoughts from me (for what its worth) - you are coming over to me as an achiever.

I well know/many of us probably well know that its nice to "put something on the scorecard" at the end of a day and think "Today - I achieved that - I'm a little step further on/I've initiated this or done that". Sometimes - it really IS best to try and step back a pace from feeling like that if one can. THE best ways forward have a tendency to come when one is feeling calmest/most quiet in my experience - and I only read in the last week or so that they've done a scientific experiment on this and it proved exactly that. That is - the experiment proved that people often have their best/most constructive ideas when their mind was just focusing on really boring/mundane everyday matters and NOT thinking round the matter at issue. I've certainly found that to be the case personally - as its been precisely while I was daydreaming away doing something really boring/everyday/etc that its just suddenly struck me exactly how to view/deal with an issue/understand a particular person/etc.

So - for a whole variety of reasons - right now....I really would strongly urge just doing ordinary everyday things = housework/cooking/going for a walk somewhere nice and trying not to bother yourself about that job any more than you can possibly help. I think that would be beneficial to you in many different ways - honestly...:)

    Take care

Hi Guys back to my old worrying ways - update I have not been sleeping again. grrrrr. My branch is getting audited so I am stressing as I have now been signed off for 3 weeks today with another 3 to go. If you leave a branch a day it is shot. So I am pretty sure it wont be a good outcome and it will get blamed on me - so I am worrying again!!!

You haven't been to work in some time. If your manager hasn't covered then it's not your problem, it's his. If anything, he will get the blame.

You need relax and get yourself better.

You are not doing yourself any favours by stressing. You have sent your sick notes so don't worry. Get busy doing other things and take care of your health. They have to do everything by procedure which includes leaving you alone until you are fit to return so PLEASE STOP worrying.

Let your boss worry about the audit. ; )
