Hi Guys
Been to see GP she has said she finds it hard to believe I will be back at work before mat leave as I am not well.
She has also made a referral to a clinical psychologist to try and help me. Doesnt that sound bad, I sound like a mentalist!! I am so angry with myself I have waited so long for a baby and now I am in this position.
I have phoned the Regional Directors understudy and left a voicemail on his phone to advise what has happened and she has not called me back and I am turning my mobile off.0 -
Well Done!!!
You're not a mentalist, you are a stong confident woman who has had the stuffing knocked out of her. Be kind to yourself now & spend your time on yourself & your baby. Don't feel guilty about letting others down, you've been let down by your employer & it's time to put yourself first.
You've taken the first step towards a better future. Thanks to all who post comps :A :T0 -
Rach - Pm'd you!0

Don't take your maternity early if you have a sick note to cover you for this period.
Taking maternity 11 weeks early would result in you having to go back 11 weeks early at the end of your maternity. Not 100% on that, but you only get a certain amount of time for maternity, or you did when my partner had hers just went back Jan 10.
My partner has been through a similar situation twice at two different work places, funnily enough both times she has been pregnant.
From everything you have said it just feels like they are trying to make you quit your job. If the branch is struggling, this is the most cost effective way for the bank to get rid of staff, if they walk out. There may be several reasons for this, but the fact is it is wrong and it is constructive dismissal.
You may just have to accept the fact that the job you have is not for you and start to look for a new job, but even so do not let your complaints end if you leave. Take it to a tribunal as you will have been constructively dismissed, even if you decide that is enough is enough and you leave of your own accord.
There are also time limits for taking your case to tribunal, again not sure of these, but ACAS can tell you everything you need to know.
The best source of advice you will get in my opinion is ACAS. My partner used them both times she had problems with her employers and they supported her and advised her brilliantly.
Everything you are doing so far is what they would advise you to do. Keep records of everything, exhaust company policy first, but then after that they can step in and can take your complaints to another level. ACAS can provide a representative to come out and support your case and be involved in any meetings you have, especially if you feel that you have no support from anybody at your workplace. They have the correct knowledge and expertise to find solutions to your problems.0 -
Thanks for your help0

I find it hard to respond to threads like these, as they bring back to many memories, but if you are still employed, and can afford a laywer, get one now.
Put your health first. Dont assume things will work themselves out, it gets harder to cope the more ill you become.
Good luck, I may try and revisit the thread later.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
Guys thanks for all your concern/comments!!!

Having a bad day, looking for some reassurance around my post. Do you think I can realistically do anything about this??0 -
I am just worried. You are right my union rep has said to just relax and get myself better mentally and then fight my cause!!0
