Thanks! Little confused about the new changes so please correct me where wrong on this. I use my Desire as intended when I purchased it having being told the 500MB is a FUP and not a set limit and then if there's a >10% difference between now and when the new T&Cs kick in they review it's eligibility for an early cancellation?0 -

Now, if you use 510 / 600 / 700MB, according to FUP, you dont get charged straight away.. Its only if you keep abusing, then you get a letter (slap in the wrist).. then if it keeps going, you get charged for the extra MBs...
After 1 June, you get charged £5 extra IF YOU DOWNLOAD 501MB - 1000MB,
and £5 for every 500mb...
if you pay £25/month (exc. vat) , then 10% of £25 would mean £2.50 .. But this increase of £5 means the increase is over 10%...
But Maybe this could apply for those who exceeded 500MB in the "previous" month (from June 1st)...
So, if your bill is in this month, and you exceeded 500MB, then it means your next bill is likely to be affected by an increase of over 10%
I tried my best to explain, if you dont understand, please go through the topic from post #1 .. :rotfl:0 -
What if you have never gone over the 500MB before? Would I still be eligible.0

I just got a call from retentions. Firstly they said that they were not changing the current fair use policy. When I asked him if I could have that in writing he went off to check and came back saying that either it would stay as 500Mb with FUP or it would change to a higher fixed allowance and that this hadn't been decided yet. So if this info is correct it looks like they might be getting the message.
He still wanted to try and get me in a new contract without giving any specific answer though! Plus he would not let me have it on an iphone tariff.
And he also tried to convince me I didn't need it because free 'wifi is everywhere'. I did think to myself well if it is that common why don't I cancel my contract altogether and use VOIP instead.0 -
I have a feeling they'll back track Norro... but I guess we'll all have to wait and see if we get a text message on the 18th...0

Question is...would he give you what he just said in writing0

I dont think they will be as lenient as before with the FUP0 -
Still in my 7 day cooling off period and obviously not happy about the potential changes/charges on the supposed 'unlimited' contract that I was sold by the Web relations team.
Want to stay but don't want to pay more than I'd signed up to or have to constantly check my usage. Same as most people I guess, and when I could get the same deal on T-mobile via a third party seller and get double the amount of data allowance seems best to jump ship.
Never had a straight forward renewal/upgrade with voda - always something, usually that they've not put me on the tariff that they said or that they are charging me more than they said.... AARRRRGGHH!!!0 -

Even if they do backtrack, how can you be sure they won't try and pull something like this again a few months down the line? I would much rather have a fixed 1 or 2Gb cap that is written into t&cs than the current vague FUP that they have demonstrated that they can't be trusted to apply fairly.0
