Emails fired off last night and letter sent RD today.
Got the usual auto response "we will contact you within 24hrs, blah, blah"
Let's see what actually happens.0 -
Just been on a call to 191 about it and the person i spoke to said he expects he can get the PAC sorted out and get a credit applied to cancel off th ETF but will check with his manager.
Then comes back on the phone and says they have not heard of this issue with being able to cancel and I need to go down to my local store who can call up to confirm and get the account cancelled from there.
A load of rubbish to be honest, i work in phone retail and I know that is not possible.
Just sent an email off now about it to the CCare address and will see what I get back.
I am expecting to be told no I cant cancel as i have not gone over 10%, but simple maths 10% of £45 is £4.50, and the charge for going over is £5.00.... simple0 -
well sent them an email, only to ccare email for now. if i get no update, ill send it to the lot of them. hopefully wont come to that.
just had my sept bill come in. used just over 4.5GB !! wow! that would add over £45 to my bill!

My number was ported over at lunchtime so I am now with 3. The plan I am on gets me 2Gb fair use data per month for £5, that's four times the amount of data Vodafone wanted, and given I rarely use that handset for calls or texts I haven't bothered with a call or text package but I was offered some good deals should I need them in the future.
I've said my final farewell on the Vodafone forum too.0 -

Which tariff are you on mate? Any more details as 2gb sounds good.0 -
Three Sim Zero, it is a pay monthly rate which only bills you what you use. You pay nothing if you use nothing. Search on this forum that's the best way to find it as is near on impossible to find on Three's site.
When you get it, register online and log on to buy the 'internet max' add on which gives you unlimited internet with a 2Gb FUP for £5 monthly cost. Calls and texts on this tariff are not the cheapest but I don't use my handset for this, it's mainly data so I don't care. If you do make more calls or send more texts there are other add-ons you can get for this.
Edit: here you go but hurry as offer expires at end of month (saying that in June they said this expired in July so I got mine just in case VF did what I thought they would and it was extended offerJ

Lol... ive just had a second "were going to charge you" text message today... do i get double cancellation rights now? lol... cmon voda... answer my letters!0
-
Lots of people reporting they sent the letter in and have been told it never got there.
Bit of a coincidence letters staying we can cancel with no charge go missing from so many different people.
I have just cancelled an upgrade on 1 of my 2 lines where I got an iPhone, starting to think about putting the same letter in the envelope i send the phone back, at least that way they HAVE to say they have received it as my upgrade will be cancelled off.0 -
And now the fun begins, here is a copy of my email I sent them:-
Hi,
When I signed up with Vodafone, I was told that I had unlimited internet on my bundle. It was never explained to me that it was a 500mb Fair Usage Policy.
I have regularly been going over this and has resulted in several text messages from yourselves, the latest one stating that I will be charged £5 per 500mb if i go over the limit from 1st October 2010.
Now, I have read on your own e-forum that if I can prove these charges increase my bill by more than 10%, I will be able to cancel without penalty due to Sections 27 and 11b of my pay monthly airtime agreement.
For the last 3 months I have used well over 1gb data which would increase my monthly bill by a minimum of at least 26% if I was to be charged!!
For my bill dated 23rd August 2010 I used 1.380gb of data
For my bill dated 26th July 2010 I used 1.925gb of data
For my bill dated 25th June 2010 I used 2.114gb of data
As mentioned earlier in the e-mail, I have been informed that I should be able to cancel without incurring any form of charges or "Early Termination Fee" according to Section 11.B of my pay monthly airtime agreement.
Section 11b states that I may end my agreement if such changes cause Significant Disadvantage, which they certainly will.
Section 27 of the Vodafone Your Plan Price Plan Terms will also have been breached by yourselves, as the internet bundle will no longer be subject to a Fair Usage Policy, but a hard cap.
I also reject as unfair any attempt by yourselves to artificially limit the right to cancel to some scenarios and not others in the face of clear legislation and regulatory guidance and OfCom General Condition 9. Any attempt to claim a penalty and in particular a cancellation charge/fee will be resisted.
Regards
Pretty simple to answer I would have thought, but not for Vodafone. Here is the response I received dead on the 24hr timelimit they set for responding:-
Hi ****,
I've checked your account and can confirm that the Price Plan on your account is 1200 Minutes + Unlimited Text + 500MB Mobile Internet for the charge of £38.30 (exc VAT) as line rental.
I can see that you have used around 1.3GB and have not been charged for extra usage in the bill generated on 23rd August 2010.
However, we keep a track record of your usage. If then also you exceed the free usage we might charge you for the extra usage.
I can confirm that you have 500MB free usage for Mobile Internet, if you exceed beyond the free usage you will be charged £5.00 per 500MB which is on pro-rata basis which means even if you exceed your usage by 1MB you'll be charged £5.
Trust the above information is helpful.
Kind regards,

The part highlighted in red makes me laugh, he says if I exceed the 500mb limit then they MAY charge me. But wait just below in the paragraph he say s I WILL be charged if I go over, not MAY.
Now, I may be slow but I cannot see anything in the response that even remotely points to my request for cancellation?
All they have done is just told me everything I already know!!
The recorded delivery letter has been sent anyway as well as copies to the email addresses found in the thread. However, I feel this may be a long drawn out saga.
