Right, after a 45 mins call to CS, i might be getting somewhere.
I spoke to a chap called martin who after speaking to his manager has confirmed the early termination fee will be waived once i give the PAC code to my new provider. I will get the PAC code within 72 hrs.
He gave me his first name, ID number, department and location.
I only managed to record the final 3 minutes of the call where he did confirm all this and his own details.
Good news i think, i was doing the online web chat to customer services who have copied and pasted the notes on my account on to the chat message. So now i have the full transcript of the web chat which shows my account details and the message on my account saying that the early termination fee would be waived.
Just waiting for PAC code now.0 -
I am very surprised that although I have used about 4 GB on my mobile this month (lack of home broadband at the moment), I have not received any texts, hence any warnings of any sort.
My usual usage is about 800MB - 1.2GB , so I know this is quite high ...
Good luck to those, who can finally put this issue to bed and move on...SAY NO TO INJUSTICE !

Came back and said that they wouldn't normally do this, but seeing as I was such a valued customer, they would make an exception for me and upgrade me to 1GB a month at no extra cost. He was rather put out when I pointed out to him that Vodafone have been offering this freely to almost anyone on a similar plan to me...
LOL, utter claptrap from Vodafone as you pointed out.
They publicly offered this as an option on their web forums to anyone who is on the 500Mb FUP plan. You've got to admire their front though to try and make you feel special and keep you instead of you getting out of the contract for free!0 -

BINGO. I think its all sorted for me.
Just got this email;
Hello xxxxx, I'm sorry to know that you wish to leave Vodafone.
I have checked the notes on the account and can see that one of my colleague's has requested PAC code and has also advised that the Early termination fee will be waived off.
The PAC code is xxxxxxxxx and is valid upto 10th October 2010.
You can take this as a confirmation in reference to notes on the account as on 09 September 2010.
Trust the above information is helpful.
Kind regards,

What email address did you use? I sent my request to cancel to customer care email and was told I would have to do it in writing. I love how you can enter into a contract online but if you want to leave one it has to be by snail mail.0
