It may be useful if you could post the e-mail you sent to them so others can do the same?
(I would post mine but I am on a different machine)
I also contacted Watchdog, VF CEO, Ofcom, Consumer Direct0 -
Tom is the master of forum moderation, he deleted a post on the e-forum, where he had categorically said I could not get out of an iPhone upgrade, as I had taken it instore, despite the phone never having a signal. I contacted the CEO's office and within a couple of days the contract was cancelled.
When I posted about my experience on the forum, Tom deleted it, he was happy that people should be misled by his "official stance" and not be made aware that there was another level of elevation......Wouldn't touch Voda, and their forum with a bargepole now.0 -
The addy is which@which.co.uk
I just pointed out the unfair changes and what seems a breach of VF's terms. Probably best if people explain in their own words.0 -
Phones4U are still selling contracts advertised as "UNLIMITED INTERNET"
http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=386843&NetKey=2
Then if you find the terms and conditions:
"The Vodafone Mobile Internet Tariff gives you 500MB data allowance per month. If you exceed your allowance, you'll default to the standard £1 per day charge for the rest of the billing month. £1 per day gives you 15MB data allowance per day. Once you have used up this daily allowance our standard charge for data access will apply (£2 per MB). You cannot rollover any unused monthly allowance to the next month. The data allowance within the Vodafone Mobile Internet tariff cannot be used for data usage abroad nor Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services such as Skype or Peer-to-Peer services (such as instant messenger services, text messaging clients or file sharing)."0 -

Based on the above...
If VF say that this 500MB has ALWAYS been "Hard" (I know thier staff have said it hasn't been the case, but if it had...) Then if I ever went over the 500mb by say 1mb, I would have to pay for £1 for 15mb usage then pay per mb at £2... fair enough.
With the proposed changes, we would have to pay a minimum of £5, even if we only use 1mb more. Therefore an increase anyway - 5 times increase for someone who would potentially only go over by 1mb.0 -

Vodafone users in UPROAR over new 500MB data charges

Facebook pages mentioned, as is this topic.0 -
Yo everyone, I haven't posted for a couple of days but seems like there's been lots going on and people really making an effort to spread this.
I've got some more ideas which I'll post later today but just thought I'd add this correspondence...it's nothing particularly new but is interesting I think due to the stark and blunt terms in which it is put. (this is an email conversation between myself and webrelations/eForum originally intended just to confirm they had added the retentions discount to my price plan and everything else we'd agreed verbally)
Subject: EFT165 - Your Account Query
Hi TheLibertine,
Thank you for posting on the Vodafone eForum. As your query was account specific, we have removed it.
I've taken a look at your account and confirm that the details are as follows:
£40/month for 18 months
600 Minutes
Unlimited SMS
500MB Mobile Internet
Vodafone Passport
You also have MMS and Video calling added on at no extra cost. I can confirm that there is also a 50% discount active until 05/11/2011
If you require any further assistance then don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks George that's really helpful, I just have a couple of questions
1. What exactly is the mms & video calling package that's been added at no extra cost?
2. The 500mb internet - the text he sent me said unlimited internet? I understand the FUP etc I just wanted to confirm my account says 'unlimited' internet as opposed to 500mb. Splitting hairs slightly I know but I'd just like my deal to appear as it was agreed.
3. Lastly could you tell me what passport is exactly or point me to a link on the voda website that explains it.
Thanks very much
Good morning,
The MMS and Video calling packs on the account are network provissioning toools that allow you to use these functions on your phone.
the internet bundle is currently unlimitted however, from 1st June all of the internet packs will be changing to 500MB cap as they were a fair usage cap on these wich is being removed.
All information on Vodafone Passport can be found here.

We're always looking for feedback on how we're handling queries for our customers, so if you want to leave any comments on how I've handled your query today, then you can pop on here and complete the quick survey. I’d greatly appreciate any feedback to ensure that I’ve been offering the best service I can for our eForum customers.
To me it really brings home the matter of fact way in which they are saying...yeah your deal's unlimited, but btw we've decided to change that to 500mb, oh and also we havn't actually bothered to inform you of this even though you're currently in your 7day cooling off period!!!!!!
Unbelievable, I find it hard to see how it's moral or legal when written in those terms. Feel free to re-use any of this if it's of any use in any way0 -
Its not legal, its a change to your core services that make up your package.
They must notify you of the change and give you the option to leave penalty free. So many people use the web and with past usage not been a reliable indicator of future usage as applications used vary in bandwidth requirements VF need to either let people go or just give up on the policy change.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
From yesterdays chat with VF:
Melissa: Ok, I can understand what you're saying regarding this, however so far this month you have still only used a total of 87.71 Megabytes
Approx 12 hours later (bearing in mind I was asleep all night!), I have used 148MB Data! So thats approx 60MB - most of that, in the last couple of hours - watched ONE YouTube Video, general web browsing, Facebook/Twitter Updates and read some RSS feeds.0
