If when we are charged and we ask to cancel as it increases our bill by 10% will the cancelling process be seamless or will we be chasing about like blue arsed flies through the ranks of Vodafone personnel yet again?0

Just posted this on the eforum, wonder how long it will be before its deleted:
I couldnt see this covered in the new updated even better than better statement:
1: Will people be informed they have the right to cancel when they are notified that they have been charged £5 for what is deemed by vodafone to be excessive usage ?
2: What will the cancellation process entail, will it be a very straightforward process? Will it be as easy as saying "i refuse to pay the £5 and wish to excercise my right to cancel as per the Vodafone T&Cs?"TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -
As far as i'm aware you cant just cancel because they have charged you a fiver.
Your bill has to have increased by 10% from the previous month... this includes all usage.
Best way is to use 2gb + a month, so if they do charge, they will put £15 - £20 on your bill... this way your prety much guarenteed your bill wil go up by at least 10%.0 -
I sent this on Friday around lunchtime;Thank you for your email. It makes sense to ask the following by email as i believe the rules on the eForum and recent notifications mean that any thread would be locked if i asked this on there.
1.) What will contitute informing me of charges of out of bundle mobile internet use? Text message? Receiving my bill? Announcement on the eForum?
2.) When will those charges or that increase apply? Under the terms and conditions i will have to write to you to inform you of my wish to cancel before the increase applies?
3.) Since i pay for out of bundle charges in arrears can you explain to me if being charged for mobile internet at the rate as per the eForum and emailed statements makes any application to cancel without penalty void?
Thanks for your help Lee
Lee has also replied to the thread i had going on the Consumer Action Group Forums so hopefully i'll get these questions specifically dealth with.

I think its very unfair of them to base the increase in charges on your previous month.
The increase in charges should be on your base bill, regardless of other things you did. As I said the only way around this is to use ridiculous amounts of data to make the charge they introduce quite significant.0 -
Just received this
I’m emailing in relation to your complaint dated the 11th June 2010.
I have seen since I have sent you this email you have requested through our eForum not to be called and all correspondence to be done by email only.
I did respond to your email at 3.12pm on Friday however I have not received a response from you.
First of all I’m sorry to hear that you’re not happy with the responses from my colleagues and I hope that I can assure and explain this for you more clearly.
I’d just like to reassure you on the charges you seem concerned about.
Vodafone will not be charging any of our customers for these charges prior to being contacted by our dedicated team. This is why we are going to be sending you a text to make you aware.
How this will work, I will explain.
In months one an two you will be receiving text messages that firstly says that you have exceeded your allowance and there maybe a better price plan for you. I can assure you that you will not be charged in this period for the usage should you be exceeding the 500mb.
In month three, if your usage is still exceeding the allowance we will contact you to offer the options of other price plans better for you or we will discuss cancelling your contract without the early termination fee.
Vodafone are going to make sure that our customers will be given forewarning regarding this and will kept in the loop over the period of three months, however I must reiterate again you will not be charged for exceeding your data of 500mb until we call you after month one and two.
Given this explanation Vodafone’s position remains the same as I’m not able to release you from your contract at this moment without the early termination fee.

Vodafone have had a good month to go through this with a fine toothcomb to make sure they are covered as much as they possibly can be.
Obviously they wont be able to stop everyone, but they will do whatever they can to make it as difficult as possible. And I suspect only those in the know that have been following this from the beginning will even stand a chance.0
