TBH, it sounds as though you've gone for a little role reversal.

You're doign as much as most working mothers with OHs, only in this instance you are taking on the tradional 'woman's' role and she's taking on the 'male' part of the equation.

The positive in this scenario is that she's also putting in a full day's work same as you and is taking care of the child while you get on with the odd jobs.

If you want to discuss it, you need to think about what needs to be done / who'll be keeping an eye on your child while thaty's doen and agree it like to adults.

TBH, your post sounded mpre aggrieved that you're not being applauded for doing the tasks that needed to be done that most working mothers do, rather than, I hate to iron & want to talk to her about her ironing while I have time with the baby.

Approach the discussion as equals rather than the fact that you think that you're doing her a favour - you both live there, you both work full time (not meaning to be overly critical, but it does come across in your post that way rather than how do we split the work a little.)

Bl00dy hell OP, surprised you ain't off work with exhaustion! Seriously though, can you come and marry me, I'd love my bloke to be like you! When I was on maternity leave after I had my two kids I cleaned the whole house from top to bottom every day. Couldn't she get the LO to help her do the housework, make it into a game? That's what I sometimes do with my kids. I think it's a bit bad that she leaves it all for you to do when you come home from work to be honest.

The woman's at work full time!
Why can't some people be bothered to read things properly?

So? I work full time too, and also have two kids and a house. Yet I don't leave it all for my OH to do!

Many men leave it all to their wives, including the childcare!

How hard is it to cook a meal, wash up, put the washing machine on and vaccuum round? Far easier than looking after a child of 18 months for the same time!

"my partner works full time aswel"

Many people seem to have missed this point and are talking as if she's home all day with the baby while he's at work and comes home to do all the housework.

I bet most people here would be pretty upset to read of a woman who works full time and after work, instead of spending time with her baby, does the housework instead!

Before things get too heated, maybe OP could come back to address some of the points raised?

That's a fair point, and it applies equally to the father.
