You just relax and keep looking after yourself.
Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

  • my baby is 8 weeks old so here are my tips:
for maternity & baby clothes and equipment (except care seats for obvious safety reasons) ebay, or NCT nearly new sales, or local boots sales

if you are going to use disposable nappies, tescos own brand are great and mch cheaper than huggies/pampers
  • Just to agree in the last post tesco nappies are fab but if you have a sainsburys near you try there own brand here are 20p cheaper per pack for he same amount an our the only lones that have kept my 1yr old dry all nite.

Ps George at asda napies are rubbish they leak!!!
:j WILL GET THERE SOON :j

WATCH OUT FOR THE PIG FLYING PAST!!

  • hiya, good luck on the bbay, I'd love another soon as mine is 2 years old now. I want to be debt free first so will be a big age gap! lol
Tescos nappies are fab and everything from ebay is always great quality for little babies as they only get to wear stuff a handful of times!
btw, pampers nappies explode!! Really! When they are wet they leak little wee filled beads from them! gross!

Hahaha, some of these posts really made me laugh - I remember Asda nappies leaking (and also that half the pack tended to be unuseable due to random bits of some kind of glue that seemed to be spilt on them which would stick them together in the middle - weird!).

I also remember the Pampers wee filled beads!! And the way you would find them in the feet of the babygrows even after they had been through the wash - urghh! Oh the joys of nappy changing!

I'm going to have a go with reuseable nappies this time I think, although I might use a combination of both, as I think disposeable ones might be more convenient if I'm out and about.

Good for you snaggles - reuseable nappies do seem to be much more practical nowadays than the horror stories my mum tells me!! You are probably right that disposable are much easier when you're out but even just reuseable half the time is half the number of nappies in landfill! :T :)

  • Snaggles if I was going to have another baby now (heaven forbid cos I've got 3 already!), I would use washable nappies mainly for cost reasons, they are cheaper even if you take washing costs into account.

Apparantly they are much easier to use, you can get velcro strips fitted in so no fiddling around with safety pins. You can even get them off ebay I think to make the cost even cheaper. When you are out and about just take a nappy sack and maybe another plastic bag to put them in.

Good luck with the pregnancy, I love to hear about people having babies, reminds me of happy times.

If I get the hang of them and I like them I probably will be brave and use them when I'm out and about too. I told hubby and he looked at me like I was mad, but I think his only experience of 'proper' nappies is as a child, seeing him Mum trying to handwash hundreds of the things! I'll talk him round, I'm sure ;).

  • I definitely think they would be worth a try. I wouldn't have considered them for a second when I had my first baby, but I am older and wiser now and realise that you don't bring your kids up any better by spending a fortune on them and getting yourself into debt. You'll be a more relaxed mum if you're not worried about money!

Phew, well I am finally getting a bit of respite from the constant morning sickness - just having a few waves of nausea today, but no actual 'u-bend yodelling' so far! SoI thought I would get off my backside and do some much needed cleaning around the house.....and then I remembered I hadn't updated my DFW diary for a while! :)

So , this is what I've been up to over the last couple of weeks:

Hubby has sold an old games console for £20, which has been added to the baby fund.

And we also went to play bingo the other night (we know how to party in Leeds lol!), which cost £15 but we won £60, so that's another £45 to add.

I've bought a couple of maternity tops on eBay, one of which is very smart and will do for work, and one which is lovely, but is currently about 3 sizes too big. I'll hang on to it for now though, as I'm starting to show already (12 weeks pregnant) so I could end up HUGE! I've also bought a pair of very versatile black maternity trousers, which will be okay for work/going out/anything really - I bought them new, which cost me £25 but I struggle to get trousers the right length (I'm too small for normal length but too tall for petite or short length), so I didn't want to risk wasting money on eBay.

The problem I'm having at the moment is that whilst my normal clothes still fit, my jeans feel sort of uncomfortable and restrictive, and after all the throwing up, I can't cope with anything tight around my poor aching stomach. But I'm not yet big enough to fill my maternity clothes. I think I'll have to do some clothes shopping, and invest in some nice stretchy outfits! And I promised I was going to be a stylish pregnant woman this time round, not a slob lazing around in a tracksuit for 9 months! :rotfl:

Hope you're all okay, having a nice cheap DFW-style week, and having fun scaring the little kids with your halloween costumes!

    Love Snaggles xxx
