Snaggles wrote:Now that makes sense - higher body temperature and needing extra fluids etc! But chillies???
I understood it with my daughter, she's an August baby. My son was born in January.
Cold drinks didnt do it. It had to be ice cubes, and they had to be crunched. I even broke a few teeth
I had to send my OH to buy bags of ice at all hours
Chillies and preggy sickness together dont sound like much fun though. Lets hope the craving for chillies wears off before the heartburn kicks inIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Ice lollies would do it too, but not anything luxurious...the cheaper the better as they had more crunch0

Snaggles wrote:Oh bless her! I love crunching ice cubes, but haven't noticed any increase in wanting to do it since being pregnant. I love ice lollies too, especially lime Fabs. Again though, not especially craving them, just really like them.
I haven't touched an ice cube since the day I gave birth, 9 years ago.
I do keep meaning to scare my OH and get a glass full.
Maybe I'll do it one day if he's being a manIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Snaggles wrote:Urrrgghhh....well the morning sickness has really kicked in now! Or should i say the morning, noon and night sickness
. I was sick at work on Saturday and have been again today, it just feels like wave after wave of it. I've tried all the usual remedies, but nothing seems to really work except just sleeping through it!
Have you tried those wrist bands that you can get for travel sickness? I had a book called "Alternative Maternity" which gave a diagram of the exact point on your wrist. Unfortunately, I no longer have the book but I'm sure that you can find the info else where.
If you know where the point is, you can apply pressure with the other hand to get temporary relief any time, any place - anything is worth trying.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
Hi Snaggles
When you do become pregnant make sure you join all the pregnancy clubs to get loads of vouchers and freebies such as Boots and Tesco. I also stocked up on toiletries which were on offer so when my baby was born I already had a stockpile - Boots always have toiletries on BOGOF. Also look out for spend over £25 and got 500 points free as by the time you've bought a couple of packs of nappies and some wipes you've spent £25.
If I think of some more I'll post again - mine are now 3(today) and 4.NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

I can personally recommend the travel sickness bands :T0

Travel sickness bands, now that's a great idea, the morning sickness feels exactly like sea sickness, but I hadn't thought of that! I'll have a look for some tomorrow......I wonder if anywhere will be selling them off cheap now that the holiday season is coming to an end?!?! Thanks guys xx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Aww, I've just read through your thread and I'm so happy for you. We've been trying for our first for about four months though due to my irregular (and sometimes non-existant) periods I'm not surprised that I'm not pregnant yet.
I would suggest that you look at attachment parenting techniques (sling carrying, cosleeping, extended breastfeeding etc.) I'm not saying everything will work for you, it's not for everybody, but you can always take what you find useful for you and baby as they are often moneysaving and forget the rest.
When you do come to weaning, make up bland food (get ideas from baby jars) in batches, freeze in icecube trays, once frozen pop into labelled bags, then pick a selection for dinner. Save the freebie sample jars for when you are out and it would be inconvient to make your own. Mashed adult food portioned out is much cheaper than buying individual jars plus you know exactly what's in it.
The only things you need to buy new (and even then you can shop around for good value) are a c!!!!at and a cot mattress (if you are using one). Off hand I can't think of anything else.
Remember that family are likely to want to buy things for the baby when it is born, encourage them to buy something you'd find useful or to start a savings account in the child's name for later.
Much Love,

Same here spirited, I did have virtually no periods, (which I liked till wanted another baby), then after a (very early) miscarriage in June they started again but were after 30 days, then 20 days, then am currently on day 31 so a bit all over the place0
