I remember that feeling. It is if you are suddenly on a conveyor belt and although you are supposed to be making the decisions, it doesn't feel that way.

The first I knew that the triple test was optional was when I arrived for my dating scan and the receptionist said "You decided to take the triple test then"?! "Oh, didn't know it was optional"

You can also choose to go to a hospital other than your GPs usual one if you so wish - find out which one has the better options, look at section rates, do they have midwife led units, etc etc.

Urrrgghhh....well the morning sickness has really kicked in now! Or should i say the morning, noon and night sickness :(. I was sick at work on Saturday and have been again today, it just feels like wave after wave of it. I've tried all the usual remedies, but nothing seems to really work except just sleeping through it!

I also think I might be having a craving. I didn't have cravings at all last time, but this time there's something I just can't get enough of.......chillies!!! They hurt my poor sick stomach (not to mention my mouth!) but I just can't get them out of my head (I think there's a song in there somewhere lol). The best ones are the ones you get on the sandwiches at subway.......mmmmmmm........I wonder if Subway is open now.........:).

Has anyone else had any strange cravings? And is it normal to get them so early in the pregnancy?

I'll look into that, thanks, I've got a bit of a hospital phobia, and found the whole birth experience a bit traumatic last time. It would be nice to find somewhere I'm more comfortable with.

My craving with both my children was ice cubes.

Munched and crunched my way through absolutely loads.
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

Now that makes sense - higher body temperature and needing extra fluids etc! But chillies???

Ice cubes here too. It wasn't so much the taste I wanted but the "crunch". OH said all the way through I would have a snowman instead of a baby and when DD was born she was freezing and had to be put under a heater thing in an incubator to warm up.
OH still maintains it was my fault!

Oh bless her! I love crunching ice cubes, but haven't noticed any increase in wanting to do it since being pregnant. I love ice lollies too, especially lime Fabs. Again though, not especially craving them, just really like them.
