Guess what! Obviously the pregnancy fairy is lurking around this board because I'm pregnant too!
Splashed out on two Asda tests tonight, did one and got two VERY pink lines. Saving the other one for morning, just to convince myself!

    Wow!! Congrats!! :T :T

There's definitely something in the water round here....

Congratulations Chocoholic!! I'm really pleased for you, that's fantastic news. It's lovely that there's someone else at a similar stage of pregnancy to compare notes with. Just don't dare give birth before me, or I'll be horribly jealous! :) I had to be induced last time, as my son just didn't want to come out. By the time he arrived I'd done so much damage to my joints, I couldn't walk properly for 6 months!

I'm sure there must be something in the water lol. Anyone else feeling tired, queasy, grumpy, achy, needing to rush to the loo? (Doesn't count if you were on the Tesco Value Vodka last night....that's just a hangover!).

I'm coping a bit better with the morning sickness at the moment after a week of barely being able to get out of bed. The combination of extra-firey ginger beer, endless packets of mints, and wearing sea-sickness bands constantly (even in bed - I must look sooo sexy.....:rotfl: ) has improved it quite a bit. I still feel sick about 90% of the time but I can function as a (relatively) normal human being again! Thanks to all of you who have offered suggestions and sympathy.

ZTD - Thanks for the reply about plastic yellowing! I didn't really expect an answer, but being a bit of a closet science geek, I loved the fact that there was a proper explanation! :T

Had to take ds to the doctors this morning because he had a temperature, his glands were swollen, his tonsils looked very red and he had spots on his tongue. I was annoyed though because the doctor made me feel like an idiot, he barely looked at him, just said yes, he's probably got a virus, give him Calpol (like I hadn't thought of that already...grrrr). I'm not one of those Mums who rushes him to the doctors every time he has a bit of a bug, demanding antibiotics, because I understand that they don't work for viral infections, and normally, if he's not seriously ill, I just keep his temperature down as best I can with cold drinks, windows open, light clothing, Calpol etc. But I was genuinely worried this time, and he does look really quite infected. It's so irritating when doctors are patronising like that.

Oh and our car has developed a leak somewhere under the dashboard, which is dripping water into the interior of the car, so the carpets are all wet on the passenger side. The leak will probably just be a little seal that has gone or something, but the time it will take to pull the dashboard apart, find the leak and fix it will cost me an absolute fortune in labour costs no doubt.

AND I still haven't received the cheque for an eBay auction that finished over a week ago......the buyer is messing me about, which is really irritating. We have a few other things to sell, but don't really want to list them until this is sorted out. He has promised we will have the cheque by tomorrow.....well, we'll see......but then it will be another few working days before it clears, and after all the messing around, there's no way I'm posting the item until I'm pretty sure it hasn't bounced (I work for a bank so I know the risks with cheques, and don't really like dealing with them).

    Phew.....rant over......breathe....and....smile.....

Nothing much happening baby-wise. I couldn't get in to see the midwife for my first appointment until 5th October - I'll be 2 months pregnant by then, I wonder if I'll be able to hear the heartbeat or if it will be too early (I can't remember much from my first pregnancy, it all went by in a bit of a daze). I just remember them doing a lot of prodding and poking, weighing  and measuring. I love babies, I really do, but I'm really not all that keen on the process of growing one!! There must be an easier way hahahaha! Oh well, only 7 months to go!:o

    Hello again!

Finally crawled out of bed after a few days of feeling so sick I could hardly stand up. I've been off work for nearly two weeks now and am bored out of my mind, so I'm hoping I will be fit to go back in later this week. I think I'm starting to improve thank goodness!

Hope everyone else is well? Any more baby announcements? Anyone having fun trying? ;)

I had my first midwife appointment a few days ago, but it was a bit of a waste of time, they didn't even examine me, just gave me some leaflets and a folder of notes that I have to take to all future appointments. I've got to go back again in a couple of weeks and they will take some blood etc!

On the money front, we never managed to get the money for the item we sold on eBay, so our baby fund is still standing at nil (just haven't had the energy to do anything else about it). But hubby has been managing to get plenty of overtime at work, which will be in November's salary, which will mean Xmas is pretty much taken care of.

My parents have invited the whole family to their house for Xmas lunch, so I won't have to cook or wash up (they have a dishwasher) ALL DAY!!! My Mum can really cook too - she makes the best Xmas dinner ever! (Except for the sprouts.....I just don't get sprouts.....bitter little undergrown cabbages who think they're great just because they're a special 'Xmas vegetable'....uuurrgghh......).

So my plan is to first of all try and get over this horrible morning sickness as soon as possible, but in the meantime get some more stuff on eBay to start bumping up our total. Hubby has also decided to sell the 400+ videos that were gathering dust under our bed (now dusted and boxed up in alphabetical order). Job lots of videos don't seem to sell that well on eBay, so he has asked around a few market traders and a few of them are interested in buying them (he will only get about £100 but it's better than nothing - it'll buy a car seat lol). So I think I will extend the baby fund challenge beyond just eBay - I've set up a seperate savings account and we are going to put any 'extra' money we come by into it, whether it's from eBay, overtime, or any other money we come into (!).

I am also 'watching' various maternity tops on eBay, which total about £25 including postage (would have spent this on one top if I went to Next/Mothercare etc), so hopefully will win some of these. This will save me a fortune in overpriced, baggy clothes that I'll never wear again, and afterwards, I'll just stick them back on eBay.

Anyway, that's enough waffling for one day , bye for now,

My first is 6 years old (I know, it's quite a big gap, but it's taken until now to be physically/financially fit enough to try again). He's excited about the new baby, although he's being naughty and clingy so I think he's worried about how a new baby will affect his standing in the household. I'm trying to reassure him as much as I can. I hope he will want to be involved in helping out with the new baby, because he's such a lovely little boy, and will make a great big brother as long as we can keep any sibling rivalry under control lol!
