Anyone want to be my house-buying buddy?

Thats sad, wessexw - but back in the 1980s, I pulled out of buying a converted flat after I got the survey - and I then found my lovely terraced house, which was so good to me for a lot of years. The right thing will come along.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks Karma, am a bit worried alright that I'll find it hard to find something else as the market where I am is dire at the moment, but hopefully I'll get lucky and 'the one' will turn up soon enough0

Hello everyone, I'm new here so please be gentle!
Me and my OH are in the process of buying our first ever house. This is the second place we've had an offer accepted on, as we pulled out of the first one following the findings of the Homebuyers Survey. The one we're buying now is 100 times better though (and more expensive...) and we absolutely cannot wait to get in there!
The offer was accpeted on 31/05, and things seem to be progressing ok at the moment, so I'm hopeful we'll complete by mid-August (touch wood!)0 -
We are 1 week after our offer was accepted.
Mortgage pretty much agreed and all documents returned
Homebuyer and valuation survey completed (valuation comes up same as purchase price which is nice)...still waiting for homebuyers
Signed and returned all solicitor information including paid some monies to start searches etc.
Hopeful we can do this quick.
What sort of things did you guys get in the homebuyer report that put you off buying??0 -
Fingers crossed it all goes well hairdye, bet you cant wait to get those keys, and sorry to hear about your situation wessexw, seems like pulling out may be the best decision, and there is usually a silver lining in that very grey cloud! Neas yours seems to progressing pretty good so far, at this rate you might have this done and dusted before we do!
We hopefully exchanging tuesday and completing on friday, but for the last week ive been having dramas with the home insurance policy I applied for with More Than. I applied online on sunday and to date I still dont have the policy details through. Will be cancelling it tomorrow, their customer service has been shoddy. Been trying all week to change the start date and note my lenders interest and its still not done today!!! Arghh! They werent even the cheapest quote either! :mad:0 -

Quick update: contracts all signed and returned to the solicitor today - we are now all ready to go. Vendor should be going in at 3pm to sign contract and give authority to exchange. Now I just need to wait to hear from the solicitor when it is all done. Fingers crossed!0
