  • I`ve just had my 60th and I enjoyed every minute of it. I had a weekend away in the Peak district with an overnight stay in a lovely hotel. my daughter bought me a lovely turquoise leather bag. I got a watch from hubby. My best friend bought me a lovely evening bag and scarf to match (a girl can`t have too many bags). I decided how I wanted to spend my birthday and told everyone I didn`t want a party. It was perfect!
  • I'm 60 this year and have dropped hints that I would HATE a surprise (I might not be dressed up etc etc). They are very kindly organising a weekend of pampering and theatre- BLISS!
I would love a picture of my four daughters together (one lives in Oz so they're not together often).
    Vouchers are a great idea!
My most amazing Christmas present was a pair of RED STILETTOS- I ADORE THEM!

I'm planning my party for my 60th. Can't afford much but want lots of friends. Have booked church hall £60. Will be a ceilidh, i.e. everyone who want will do a turn. Friends have formed a band, so 60s music to dance to. Have asked for no presents but bring a dish or booze, so no cost there. Decoration fairy lights (all friends' christmas lights) and candles and florists ribbon bows......fingers crossed!

A 60th party I went to last year had a great idea for pressents. The son had written to guests saying he would pass a diary round on the night for people to book in things to do with the birthday girl. So meal at lunch or trip to the shops - what ever you could afford or wanted to do, could even be a day out to the park.

It was good, the birthday girl got lots of social events and no rubbish presents.

Thanks for all the ideas re photo's. My dad is arranging his own 60th birthday party (any excuse for a do.) but my brother & I are clubbing together to get him a steam train driving experience. I have looked around & funnily enough the experience that seems to be the best value is the one offered by the society based in my home town (Bury) It works out at £250 for a full day experience, but if anyone else can suggest anywhere else that it might be worth looking at I would be greatful for any suggestions. My dad lives near Carnforth & there are several preserved railways in that area.

    Thanks all xxx

Cant believe no-ones got any ideas!

Please, any ideas gratefully welcomed! :)

Why don't you do something totally different and book your mum & yourself up for Belly Dancing Lessons. It's great fun, social and healthy!

Thinking caps on Guys! It is my birthday on 7th August and my hubby keeps asking what I want to do. It will be an unusual date which will only occur again in a thousand years.

What can I do to celebrate my birthday at 12.34 and 56 secs on 07.08.09?
    So it will read 123456789!

I will be 55 which added will make the final 10!

One idea was to meet under Big Ben, Another was to go to a pub or restaurant with a number in it!
Hold some kind of number based party but cannot think of much. Need your amazing imaginations and brilliant ideas desperately. Regards W :A
