I have a 'onetel' dial up a/c which I use as backup.
IIRC, it's 1.5 ppm 24/70 -
You should let your mother use Zaggle's unmetered dial-up service, as recommended by MSE. They offer a package for £6 a month where your mother can go online for 60 hours a month (on peak or off peak) - that would be about the same as 600 off-peak 1ppm minutes with a pay as you go service. There is no real contract with them, as the minimum period is 1 month (which is what you'd pay for the first month anyway).
Hope this helps0 -

Hi caroline
UW provide dial-up at 2p pm 24/7Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0 -
Virgin's Pay as you Go looks to have no set-up or ongoing fees, just the call charges for times you are actually on-line.

You MIGHT also be able to reduce these call charges by using one of the following numbers to dial-up and connect instead of their 0845 access no. 'tho i haven't had chance to check this out myself so can't confirm these still work!

I see that there aren't many users of this Discussion Forum so I hope popeople still look even if they don't post (last post in March 2007!!!)
Martin's latest email states that fast4 costs £7.99 per month, but for a few months now it has been £8.99 per month.
No complaints from me; it is pretty fast (45.2 Kbps most of the time) and apart from a blip when I first joined when they took some extra payments from my bank account (quickly refunded when I spotted them) I am very happy with fast4 as a Dial Up provider.

Nony, I've just merged another thread regarding dial up providers and checked Martin's article which appears to show the correct pricing for Fast4 below so perhaps it was just the email that was wrong, I'll let the team know, thanks.
The cheapest unmetered ISP is Zaggle at £5.99 for 60 hours a month (approx 2 a day) or it's just a little more for unlimited useage with Fast4.net at £7.99 or Mipcards* at £10 for 30 days.0 -

DAK what the dial-up access number is for the Zaggle £5-99 a month package.
Is it a 0808 or 0800 number or an four digit access overide number?0
