Knowing how bad communication is within the Tesco Hierarchy, I wouldn't be surprised to find that there are many stores out there with the misleading POS still on display. Besides, even if you do buy the correct game (Xbox 360's game is Prey, the PS2's games are Reservoir Dogs and a Sports game and the PSP is Cars), the discount wasn't working as of yesterday. It is possible that Tesco has sorted out the till error (i.e. making sure the discount comes off when the game of the week is bought). However, there's still a chance of finding stores with misleading POS on display (where it doesn't say "with the game of the week").

In my local Tesco Extra the sign was still up saying £20 off when you buy an X-Box 360 and game. Discount didn't come off at the till. CS wouldn't do an R + R just offer £20 back. Anybody had any joy with head office.

I'd contact HO and argue it. Be nice to the person at HO, though. Also, it depends on who you get through to. If the first person won't help, keep trying until you get one who will. It's a definite overcharge, therefore R&R should apply. Nothing in their promise states that it excludes special offers (insert any of the excuses they come up with).

Tesco in Upper Boat still has the £20 off with any X-Box or PS2 and game. I'm not going to attempt it here as it is my local Tesco where I shop every week. If any one has any success here please post and let me know.

Hmmm, this thread has gone a bit quiet...has everyone rushed off to Upper Boat (wherever that is in Wales)? We won't have a post from Ben or davodedthomas for a while then....:D

Has X Box 360 £20 discount not been working on both the Core System and Special Edition, or just one of them? And is it right that discount only comes off when you buy the Prey game?

I had a look in the store yesterday and the sign said 20 off if you buy a ps2 and game of the week, wasnt a sign for the psp tho.

If I get a ps2+gotw would they give me a complete refund or is it not worth trying?

If the sign says "with the game of the week" and you buy the game of the week and the discount doesn't come off, you should get a full refund and keep the product. You may well need to argue it, though, as many stores are being stubborn over it (even though it is a clear overcharge). If you come across as stubborn manager, ask them to contact HO. If that doesn't work, you contact HO. If the sign just says £20 off Xbox 360/PS2 & game, it doesn't matter what game you buy, as it doesn't indicate that it only applies to certain games.
