Whilst I still say 'each-to-their-own' it is getting tedious reading the xbox/ps2 posts - still back to page 16......

    Duder

It might be tedious to you, but to us that have been overcharged by tesco and are being denied what we are entitled to is really isn't! Soory if we are boring you but tis thread is to discuss tesco misprices and that is what we are doing. there are a lot of people on here that are trying to help other people in the same situation get what they are entitled to.
I understand that there are a lot of posts on the same misprice but the reasons for this are obvious.
Sorry if this sounds like I am having a go at you I really am not. I am just trying to put it into perspective.
Once again I am sorry if it offends but I really couldn't think of another way to put it.
    Have I said I am sorry?! ;)

I agree this is a discussion thread to discuss what we need to. After all you don't have to read it

Wow what a b88ch - Went for the r&R on the Whitney Houston CDs. The CS (middle aged) was obviously training because she didnt know how to refund the person infront of me for some returned trousers. Suddenly became mrs expert when I asked for the R&R -
must have been put in wrong slot  - dont think so says I theres 2 more in there
wrong sel  - dont think so - same title - not 2 lots of whitneys greatest hits (surprised it fills 2 cds)
the code was wrong :o - is this a new cunning ploy put the wrong bar code refernce on and not ha:o ve to pay out
then the killer - eventhough i pointed out the big blue sign - she said it was the local managers discretion as to whether they paid out - I dont think so says I - lets have a word with him. During this time her training supervisor kept her distance. She got onto the phone with the manager who in the end said give me the money:T - by now there was a queue behind me of not very happy squaddies (its in the middle of the army base).
I was seriously miffed  - made to look a right idiot by someone who didnt even know her own job.
Got the cash tho' - :j - The people at my local in bradford are much nicer - but they are way too quick off the mark- its like cat and mouse.
  • If Tesco ever did stop the R&R policy who can say they would still shop there ?

I would guess in view of what I have learnt from this thread and site and reading between the lines that due to the mammoth mess up and amount of disgruntled customers that HO have passed the buck to the managers for the weekend - at least until they see if they have a leg to stand on or not (a legal loop hole. IE well this is a line you can use (not on special offers) but refund if absolutely necessary. How many people have buckled under the free game that are not members of this site etc. In doing this they also pass the buck to buy time and save them being sued if you see what I mean as they can then step in and save their own bacon if necessary. Oh well the manager was wrong and yes you can have a refund in line with our policy, We will inform the manager.

Maybe I am way of key but it makes sense since some managers are still refunding?

Sorry I mean't to say that I know you didn't buy the console etc but newby training has been told what to say ie local mangers decision and has quoted it for anything

I wouldn't. I have a Sainsbury's and Morrisons within a mile of my house, whereas Tesco's means a trip into town, roughly 30 minutes away.

Now its worth it, because I can often get r+r's which pays for the petrol, but I would stick to my local stores if r+r policy was changed
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done

  • Hello this is my first post as I only saw this fantastic thread on Thursday and have been glued to it since.

Since them we have been busy R&Ring and have a great weekend

Tried the PSP and cars deal but got fobbed off through inexperience.

Then went to another store and went for the PS2 and over the hedge game. No discount at the till went to CS to complain. Very nice woman agreed with us and called the electrical manager, who called the store manager. agreed to give us the £20 reduction and game for free. We rejected this and told them to ring HO. HO told the manager that an email had been sent to all stores telling them to take down the signs. After hearing this and checking to find out that the electrical manager had ignored the email, he backed down and gave us a full R&R for £137 - what a result!

Went to another store and went for it again with the PS2 and Full Spectrum Warrior. No £20 off at till so went to CS. Argued with Dep manager who implied we were trying to get £240 from tesco. After my wife nearly punched him at this point and stormed off he agreed to the free game and would not budge any more saying it was store discretion. At the last minute he saw another sign saying PS2 + game £14 off dated a week ago. His face dropped and said this sign is out of date and is Tescos mistake - FULL REFUND of game and PS2.

Been to other stores today and no more offers but got other R&Rs

    Total for the weekend

    PS2 + over the hedge = £137
    PS2 + Full spectrum = £120
    Whitney x 2 = £34
    Vtech animal bus x 3 = £33
    Tesco Finest photo frames x 3 = £36

    £360
  • This thread makes interesting reading, just wondered though a few things and thought some newbies might be interested too:

when you go for an R&R do you pay by cash so it is not traceable ie you do not use your clubcard/credit card ?

Do you have to provide your name and address (I was asked this once)

If you are getting regular R&Rs from the same store, don't they monitor you/recognise you ? or do you visit several Tescos in one area.

    many thanks Welshy x
