Yeah...I actually knew that....just last time I put that I got corrected the other wayGo figure
I think it is because the policy originally stems from a guarantee around own-label products, but as that is way before my time I am not certain.Who or what was I before you came in to my life

Could you turn the bold off? Not quite sure why you are doing it but its a bit ott...;)
As I already posted, if I had had to deal with one I believe I would have honoured the refund as in my opinion the POS was missleading (bloody awful, to be frank).
As for the other bit about security/being banned....I can't comment on that because I do not know the full story. I don't ever comment on those issues. Not because I distrust the information as given in the posts, but because without the other side of the story not enough information is there. One of the drawbacks of forums...Who or what was I before you came in to my life

Went to another store and went for it again with the PS2 and Full Spectrum Warrior. No £20 off at till so went to CS. Argued with Dep manager who implied we were trying to get £240 from tesco. After my wife nearly punched him at this point and stormed off he agreed to the free game and would not budge any more saying it was store discretion. At the last minute he saw another sign saying PS2 + game £14 off dated a week ago. His face dropped and said this sign is out of date and is Tescos mistake - FULL REFUND of game and PS2.
£360
Hi
Which store was this?0 -

when you go for an R&R do you pay by cash so it is not traceable ie you do not use your clubcard/credit card ?
Do you have to provide your name and address (I was asked this once)
If you are getting regular R&Rs from the same store, don't they monitor you/recognise you ? or do you visit several Tescos in one area.
many thanks Welshy x
I make up a name and address and am more often then not asked for it, even though they are refunding the money to my card and have my real name on that.
I am definately recognised in all the stores I go in! but don't care!:rotfl:0 -

In my opinion it does not matter if you regularly RnR at your local Mr T's - I do - if the mistakes are being made by Tesco they have to honour their own policy, regardless of what they might think of their customers for daring to buy the goods at the wrong price and then picking them up on it!DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0 -
Ive been R&Ring in 5 different stores, now for about 1 month, and have had been successful with each of my 6 attempts but the staff make me feel like a naughty school girl, which makes me very nervous about doing it again.
An example of this was when i bought lamb chops wrong SEL and they then scanned at the higher prive as shown on the label, so I went to get my R&R and the department manager said you've obviously noticed this before you went and paid, so next time come and tell someone "Before" you go the the checkout! I know that's not my job but I am certain that the next time I do come across more meat that is suitable to be R&R'd I will be dreading meeting up with that department manager again...
I havent had much luck with finding happy CS assistants but I am sure they are out there!! :rotfl:
how do other R&R'ers deal with going back to the same store over and over again??

I only use 2 normally, and another 1 when I have the time to make the trek, so I am EXTREMELY self consciuous when I go in, even when I am just doing a 'normal' shop - although I always keep my eye open of course;)
I always take a glance at who is on cs desk, and that certainly influences my attitude that day - unless something has literally got the wrong sticker on, as well as my name
Unfortuanately although I try and vary the days and times I go, there is obviously only a small select band of staff who serve on the cs desk, and their faces are as familiar to me as those of my work colleagues. I have never met outright rudeness, although several have offered the difference, but it doesn't make it any easier.
It is bliss when I see a strange face at the cs desk....but these are probably the day I don't find an R&R anyway
Last week I saw a new face when I walked in, but by the time I went to cs desk - just to exchange something - she had gone and the usual cs was at the helm !
It doesn't help when I go back to get refunds on failed R&Rs, as I am increasing the number of times I go to the cs desk, and getting my face remembered. Tried to return a dvd to an new Express, but they don't sell dvds so therefore wouldn't take one back, even though I had receipt.
I feel as though the staff at my regular Tesco breath a collective sigh when I leave without heading for the cs desk......not that I've had that many R&R's, nor on anything more expensive than games/dvd/cd.
I don't do (yet) meat and fish etc, as I feel explaining £/kg diff between sel and pack would REALLY get my face known;)0 -
i have done a R&R on chicken fillets 2p more on pack than at SEL. did feel nervous about it tho' ,
at CS they said but it says the price on the pack, I said that I did not even look just shoved them in my basket but noticed when i was packing0 -

Help for newbie please? the only bit I can't understand with this R&R - I can see how items have 2 prices on them but do you know for sure you'll be charged the higher one - wouldn't you be likely to get bagS full of shopping you didn't really want due to being charged the lower price on the misprices? how can you be sure it would be scanned at the high price?Picking up an expensive item in the hope of an R&R is a bit of a gamble surely? Or do you have to take back loads of refunds?:o
I'm quite amazed by these posts and how much some of you have managed to save! Well done!:beer:0
