I wonder what Trading Standards would think about that. Having misleading advertising up for weeks, yet not doing anything about it until customers start making complaints. The fact that it has been like it for a few weeks and I'm sure HO knew about it means it cannot be classed as a mistake anymore.
My theory is that tesco knew a few weeks ago that there would be a load of misprices on consoles because we were spouting off about it here on on this thread that their offer was due to close, I think that is why they extended it for a week to see how they could limit the damage.
Some bright spark in the boardroom probably came up with the idea that they could in effect have a different price on them if they have a £10/£20 discount off if you buy the game of the week.
I can see Mr T's cronies now, saying "brilliant idea, pay rise for that man and give him the key to the Exec Bogs". "We've got 'em by the curlies". "Go do it".
What a complete and utter balls up!!!

Thing is, even a few weeks back, the sign said £20 off Xbox/PS2 & Game..at least in the stores I saw it in. I never saw mention of "when bought with the game of the week" in any store I've been in. This means that the problem has been there for a while. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I don't think so because i would have spotted it. The glitch only happened when the price change came into effect on Thur eve.

No, the signs in the locals definitely all said £20 off Xbox 360/PS2 & Game before last week. No mention of the game of the week. I think it would have worked before, but no-one here thought to try it (as we were all waiting for the offer to end, not realising that the offer was flawed by the POS).In a rut? Can't get out? So what is everyone buying?
I was fobbed off buying the PSP base pack and after almost 2 hours I got a refund and no PSP, the problem is now I am waiting for the refund to go back on my card so I cant get a PSP from anywhere untill that has cleared. My sister wants a PSP for her birthday next saturday so I just hop HO tell me to go pick a PSP and the cars game up.
The Xbox and PS2 I have seen a few diferent SEL's some saying console and game being non specific about the game and the poster states the game needs to be game of the week which is prey or was in the store I went to.
so what game were people buying does the £20 come off if you buy prey but not if you buy the other games?0 -
Although, then people might go direct to Trading standards instead of trying R+R and potentially cost Tesco a hefty amount more £££0

The game chart I saw yesterday was dated the 18th of August....This was a top 20 chart with a box saying "Buy a PS2 console with Over the Hedge game" and get £20 off.....so it was definately on show a week gone yesterday..........0
