Thanks for taking time to explain that David. One of the misprices I noticed was a pack of meat but it had an "actual price" sticker on it (which was charged as quoted so could you complain?) so do you mean from the fresh meat counter?

No not the fresh meat counter, the prepacked coolers.....Look down the sel's and then at the kg prices on the packs....if the kg price is higher on the packs then you will be charged the higher price. Beware though, that there isn't an offer that says something like "buy 2 for £6" as then the individual price becomes irrelevant as the "special offer" price kicks in...............unless it doesnt kick in.....then thats another case for a full RnR....but these are usually found out accidentally.

An "actual price" sticker is calculated from the Kg price which should be shown on the pack as well........if this is more than the SEL, then you should get RnR.
  • me too

just bought psp& cars game £10 wasnt taken off at the till went to cs who called manager who said it wasnt an overcharge as was a special offer??called customer services they agreed with manager declined their offer of free cars game & said I would take it up with head office when I got home.have just called customer services they said there is a problem with this console and that you are entitled to a refund of the game but not the console and advised me to write in.
have just emailed them & terry leary so will see what happens.
  • Got brave last night with my first R+R on Aero Chunky. 2 for £1.80 but didn't come off at till. CS lady said to me "You go and enjoy them more now they are free!" Thanks I will!
I did also notice that they had x box 360 with the old price label of £207 or something like that which expired on the 17/8/06 I think. Does anyone know if this was extended or has it def finished? I wasn't brave enough to try it with that amount of money!!!
    Just trying to be me.....
  • God i'm steaming!!! Just bought the PS2 console with the Over the Hedge game. the £20 discount didn't come off so went to CS. told i could have the £20 knocked off there so i said 'no thank you.you're policy quite clearly states that if im overcharged i get to keep the product and get my product back' the CS lady said it didnt apply to items of a high value so i asked for a manager. his excuse not to refund was 'they dont refund special offers'. so i rang head office and was told also by them that they dont refund special offers and as there is a national problem with these consoles they cant overrule a store managers decision.

i refused the refund in the store and have kept the console and game because i know once i've handed it back for a refund i havent got a leg to stand on. so now i've got a PS2 console and game that i've been overcharged for because they wont honour their policy.

please please please any advice on this as i am absolutely steaming  and i think that they should be honouring their policy surely?

Write head office a letter along the lines of

I entered into a contract to buy goods from your store based upon terms and conditions that you clearly advertise. These terms were not upheld and I seek a full refund of £xxx within 14 days or I will seek to gain my money back through legal channels.

They won't risk the media scandel of it going to court and will refund.

With so many of these very similar cases, do you think the nomal procedure from HO will apply.

    Hi Mandy,

Please see my PM to you on this.

You could try emailing as well. customer.service@tesco.co.uk

Same question as above.....As there are many similar cases here, do you think the normal HO response will be forthcoming...

OK, I just found this thread after a google search on the subject, thank god I did! I have been in a similar situation just now, 2 and a half hours of arguing in store and I have been told the refund applies to game only, I have not accepted this and I am currently awaiting a call from head office (hello if you are reading this!).
Dep manager was rude to me and the manager walked away.
I am not going to give up, I have the actual SEL as the manager left it at the desk and a pic of the policy mehind the CS desk. Will go to Trading standards Tuesday if no joy.

read my earlier post about PS2 and game... ive just written a letter to Sir Terry expressing my anger and upset. have given him 14 days to respond favourably or i will be seeking legal action and will be going to trading standards, as their policy is not being upheld.

    im still absolutely steaming!!
