I am furious. I just had to spend an hour battling to uphold the pricing policy. The duty manager was rude and walked away. I called head office, kept me waiting to speak to their team leader for about 30 minutes. Team leader said that the pricing policy was a store policy and it is up to each stores discretion whether to implement it!!!

He also said he couldnt force them to refund me, and he didnt have the abilityn to authorise a refund..it was totally up to the duty managers discretion! I cannot believe even Head Office speak such madness this time!

I want to write a letter of complaint now whie its fresh in my head, and e-mail is faster. Ive already got Terry Leahys e-mail, but wanted to cc it to as many people as possible i.e. Head Office customer services etc.

Please can you post any e-mail addresses you know

    thanks

Sorry to be one of the "thick" new people who don't quite follow this.

We've been reading these threads for days now (& the bit on the 1st page which explains everything!).The bit we don't understand is how you know you will be overcharged at the till. I found a couple of items where the SEL & the sticker had different prices on them but both times I was charged the lower price so I couldn't really complain. There are no self scanners in any of our local stores.

So How do you know which items to buy to get full R&R? Is it just by reading the misprices postings on here? Are they the same in every store?

Would really appreciate having this explained.

A lot is trial and error. Mostly we look for expired yellow SELs which show special offers. Lots of these will return to a higher price after the date shown.
Others are just trial and error, or accidental, that are just shared on here.
Meat R+Rs are easy as they are clearly different prices on the shelf edge and on the pack (per kg). They aren't the same in every store, as some may be more on the ball when it comes to pricing, but you often get national problems eg Wotsits on BOGOF is not working at the moment.

mate, same happened with me yesterday when i rang HO in store. Got a diff reply when called from home a couple of hours later. They were totally on my side.

Its pot luck, I think it depends who picks up at the other end. They have 600 in the call centre.

    Try ringing again.

Thanks for taking time to explain that David. One of the misprices I noticed was a pack of meat but it had an "actual price" sticker on it (which was charged as quoted so could you complain?) so do you mean from the fresh meat counter?

I e-mailed it to Sir terry and to customer.service@tesco.co.uk.

Tiamaria - on prepacked meat fish and cheese that is priced per the kilo, look at the shelf price per kg and compare with pack price per kg. It is illegal for the store to charge the higher of the two if they differ - take it to customer services after purchase for a refund and retain.

Coventry Cross Point had the offer on, but I didn't try it as I wasn't confident of R&R last night. Went out this morning to try in 2 other stores, but offer not on. Is ity EXTRA's only?

Nope, it's not just the Extras. I've seen this offer in normal stores and Metros, too. Admittedly, the Metro I saw it in has only just put the POS up. Before, they just yellow stickered the Xbox360 and the PS2 with no mention of what the offer actually was.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

 God i'm steaming!!! Just bought the PS2 console with the Over the Hedge game. the £20 discount didn't come off so went to CS. told i could have the £20 knocked off there so i said 'no thank you.you're policy quite clearly states that if im overcharged i get to keep the product and get my product back' the CS lady said it didnt apply to items of a high value so i asked for a manager. his excuse not to refund was 'they dont refund special offers'. so i rang head office and was told also by them that they dont refund special offers and as there is a national problem with these consoles they cant overrule a store managers decision.

i refused the refund in the store and have kept the console and game because i know once i've handed it back for a refund i havent got a leg to stand on. so now i've got a PS2 console and game that i've been overcharged for because they wont honour their policy.

please please please any advice on this as i am absolutely steaming  and i think that they should be honouring their policy surely?
