Its happening again people. Someone wanted advice on how to deal with the aftermath, not a debate on the wheres and whys of her situation.
Maybe another thread should be started to discuss the 'ethics' of this, so as it doesnt make the person who bumped this thread feel any worse than they already do?You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

This thread is over a year old!
Maybe someone would like to start a new thread, given that the OP has moved on, had a new baby and emerged from a breakdown I think dragging up this thread isn't the healthiest thing to do.0 -

Who on earth do you think you are to stand in judgement of somebody else's perfectly legal choice and decide whether or not their reasons and circumstances are acceptable to you?
Its one thing to say "I wouldn't have a termination in these circumstances", that's fine, if you don't want an abortion nobody will ever physically force you to have one, but how dare you take it upon yourself to claim you know what's best for everybody.
I haven't said I know whats best for everybody!!
Everybody has different situations, and I have clearly stated in my post that abortion is an option for some people in some cases.
And how the hell can you refer to parenthood as a punishment?!?!
That makes no sense at all, parenthood is hardwork but brings rewards, not a punishment for enjoying sex!
The situation I was referring to, I think if abortion hadn't been seen as the easy option, they could have made it work. They had better family support than I had, older, more financially secure etc.
They obviously realised that not long after, as they planned the next one less than 1yr later.
I also think that it is used to much as an option, as in your pregnant it's a 50:50 choice for you now to keep it or not.
It was pushed on me, and I'm lucky my own mind was strong enough at that age to know that was not what I wanted. The nurse/health worker (I don't know who exactly they are at FP clinics) acted in the most shocking way from the second she saw the positive, and that is not acceptable.
I think you have mis-read my post and the points I was trying to put across.:j - DS - 7
