Hi,
These are in force as of Tuesday AM,
Severe congestion continues at UK airports due to the extra security measures put in place last week. The terrorist threat level has now been lowered from 'critical' to 'severe' and baggage restrictions are set to change again from early Tuesday morning.
As from Tuesday am each passenger is permitted to carry ONE item of cabin baggage through the airport security search point. The dimensions of this item must not exceed: a maximum length of 45 cm, width of 35 cm and depth of 16 cm (including wheels, handles, side pockets etc.). Other bags, such as handbags, may be carried within your cabin baggage. All items will be x-ray screened.
No liquids are permitted through the airport search point including gels, pastes and lotions. Electronic items, such as laptops, will be accepted as hand-luggage but will be checked thoroughly before admittance.
BAA will implement the new procedures from Tuesday morning and are asking passengers flying from Heathrow, Gatwick or Stansted not to bring hand luggage until the new restrictions are in operation.
If you have any questions on travel arrangements or security in place at airports contact your airline or carrier
Some none BAA airports have already relaxed the rule.ie Luton etc
