sorry ccc = child care costs.

why would someone be paying child care costs when they dont work? id just like to know why. i totally understand that some children go to nursery or wherever to give their mums a break but this hasnt yet been stated.

if a child has some medical problem that means a few days at a childminders/whateer is needed to give mum a break, as far as i understand this is funded by social services (my eldest nephew went through this when he was a toddler just to give my sister a break)
There's someone in my head, but it's not me

I've been offered Childcare costs so that I can get on with my correspondence course but I declined.

one other bad thing about being a single parent....your kids bring you pressies of sweets and you have to eat them all by yourself.....I'm fat enough as it is.

My ds has just found the half a bag of midget gems he gave me at the weekend and is very upset that I haven't eaten them yet lol I can't palm them off to his dad so I'm sat here eating them now :p:D

    Its a tough job :A

(just trying to lighten the mood btw ;))
Everyone knows that calories don't count if you eat standing up...so suggest you do the washing up or similar and munch a few...life is too short to suffer agonies of temptation over a midget gem:D

I like being a single mum...it means I can do all my scrooge like money saving activities without comment (I am a bath water recycler, sitter in the dark, purveyor of nettle, sorrel and dandelion soup (it's free and packed with vitamins) to my long suffering off spring and general miser to the max). It also means I can eat toast in bed, not bother with time wasting girly titivation, mend the car without derogatory comments and soak my smalls in the washbasin without causing a riot;)

Ahhh now that's where I've been going wrong all my life :rotfl: I'll never sit down to eat again ;)

I have to admit that since my ex left I have found myself applying for loads more freebies, not just because they are free but because I don't have him sneering at me for ordering carp and junk! Little does he know that most of his xmas present from the kids this year will be stuff I have got as freebies and saved up for him lol

oh and I also like having control of the remote for the tv now ;)
  • Having the control of the remote, eh? Now that's when you feel that adrenalin rush of power!!:D

I bought myself a black and decker cordless power drill and put shelves up all over the place...there's something immensely impowering about using a power drill...am not sure if it's the phallic over tones or what?

and the bliss of actually being able to watch something without the threat of it disappearing from the screen and onto the next channel every 10 seconds....unfortunately there is never anything on tv that I want to watch these days LOL

In my dreams, when I am old and my littlies have started school, I shall stay on the sofa all day in my nightie..., eating mashed potato with cheese in it..I shall buy sky tv and spend all day watchin the re-runs of all the stuff that i don't watch now as i don't have time....and I alone, will have command of the remote!!!:D
Actually, that's quite a limited aspiration isn't it...although my no. 1 aspiration is for sleep, sleep and yet more sleep, which is perhaps even more limited eh?
Gosh, it's nice to post though...I don't have many friends (too busy), and it's a real luxury to have a quick virtual chat every now and again...thanks;)

sleeeeeep, I was just talking to my freind about that this afternoon. I can't remember the last time that I had a lie in past 8 am or the last time I woke up naturaly, not because my ds was bouncing on the bed wanting his breakfast at 6 am.

I never get control of the remote until about 10pm when my oldest goes to bed, it's a good job I prefer the pc to the tv lol
