Managed another choc-free day yesterday, although I did have a few drinks, which led to a packet of crisps and then a curry , but hey, no chocolate!! :j
Have a great day everyone xx
Well done for a no chocolate day! :T I have been wondering about crisps, they have no sugar but if I eat crisps I really want chocolate to go with themMaybe I should avoid crisps too.

Happy birthday Vikki!!!!!!! Of course you are allowed chocolate on your birthday, totally guilt free!
I had some chocolate today, but am too tired to beat myself up about it. I ate ok apart from that, and have noticed something else - I haven't had any toast for 2 weeks! As I always eat it smothered in butter, surely that represents a serious calorie saving? I have been having a boiled egg and low fat Greek yogurt for breakfast instead.
Anyway, I am drawing a veil under today's chocolate and wiping the slate clean. I am at my mum's for the weekend and there in NO chocolate in the house, and the nearest shop is 20 minutes' walk away! So hopefully this will be a very virtuous weekend.
Night night all, here's to a good chocolate-free weekend!
I'm sure your new healthy breakfasts will cancel out any small chocolate slip ups, I know I should have a more healthy breakfast but I am always in a rush so it's cereal or toast for me most mornings. When I've got time I like grilled bacon on really buttery toast"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Happy belated birthday Vikki! Chocolate is calorie free on your birthday so I've heard
hope you had a lovely day.
Still managing to avoid the chocolate mainly through carefully avoiding/dealing with things that usually trigger a binge e.g. if I get hungry I'll go cook instead of eating chocolate. I've bought a couple of types of nuts to pop on my desk so I can nibble on those instead. I know they can be high in unsaturated fats but they have to be healthy than eating chocolate bars every other hour.
I know eventually I'll have some chocolate. I'm not going to be giving it up for the rest of my life. The real test will come when I see if I have sufficient self control to not eat the whole bar/box.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend0 -
Evening everyone
Spotted this thread and thought I would take a look:)
You're all doing really well with the chocolate cutbacks!:T:T
I have totally cut out chocolate and haven't eaten any since Ash Wednesday. I also cut out the crisps and fizzy pop I feel so much better for it. My skin is a lot clearer and I've got more energy
I'm not sure if I have lost any weight as the scales don't like me!:eek:
Keep it up everyone!:T:T:T
I meant to respond to this the other day and forgot to quote it, sorry nunnygirl. I wanted to say WELL DONE and your post is a huge inspiration to me. Please keep posting, we could do with more like you xoWell done for a no chocolate day! :T I have been wondering about crisps, they have no sugar but if I eat crisps I really want chocolate to go with themMaybe I should avoid crisps too.
LOL. You could give it a go! Crisps are shockingly bad for you as well. I do like crisps but rarely eat them (about 4-5 times a year, if that). Why can't I be like that with chocolate??? :mad:I'm sure your new healthy breakfasts will cancel out any small chocolate slip ups, I know I should have a more healthy breakfast but I am always in a rush so it's cereal or toast for me most mornings. Nyum nyum!!!
Yes, I definitely feel better for eating a healthier breakfast. 2x toast with butter is bound to be over 500 calories, compared to about 250 for a boiled egg and some yogurt.
Mum made me breakfast this morning - *toast*, wouldn't you know! I hadn't the heart to refuse, bless her. But I have had no chocolate, which isn't hard when there's none in the house!! It's not rocket science, I just need to keep it out of my own house.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Darn it! Yesterday I had a chocolate digestive biscuit
At least it was only one and I blame the very large glass of wine for making me peckish. I also had a worthers original and a packet of crisps but not overly worried about them

Last night I totally forgot that I was supposed to be off the chocolate and had half of an M & S melt in the middle chocolate pudding. I really need to get a grip generally - am meant to be doing WW and also on the 7 lbs in May challenge, but yesterday I had huge meals plus 2 packets of crisps and lots of alcohol, and have started this morning with too much buttered toast. Sorry to go off topic xx0

Afternoon all, I had a slip up last night... found some unexpected chocolate (Rocky bars) last night and ate three.
I am so cross at myself.
After I had eaten them, I was browsing the internet and came across an article by a woman who had lost lots of weight at the age of 40, and she was happy about it, but also devastated at the thought that she had 'wasted' her teens, 20s and 30s being overweight.
She was grieving for the 'lost' years and asking herself 'why didn't I do it sooner, I could have felt this good years ago'. It struck a chord with me. Obviously I am not as OW as this woman was, and have only had this extra 1.5 stone for the last 2-3 years, but I was suddenly struck by the thought - do I want to spend my 30s being unhappy with my appearance? I want to look good while I'm still young enough to get away with certain things, so now is the time to do it! Not in ten years' time!
This has really opened my eyes. I am not getting any younger and I want to get back into my nice clothes sooner rather than later. So today is Day 1 of No More Excuses. I'm not going to ban chocolate altogether but I am going to be very strict and only have some if I've been very good all day/week and earned it. I'm toying with the idea of designating one day a week when I can eat anything I like, or perhaps allowing myself one little bit of chocolate every day or two. Either way, I feel revitalised after reading that article.

Tara - I honestly think thats the biggest breakthrough you will get. Its not cutting things out completely - its learning to control them. You know I was saying that I have one day off from low carbing?? occasionally it slips into two, but thats mostly when we have bought bagels or something, and there are a couple left over - then its a shame to let them go horrible, and we are back on track (well, I am - mum isnt quite so dedecated to it!!) the rest of the week.... so far,so good(ish!)
Very good luck with this - `if you are anything like me,you will get to your "naughty" day, and find that you dont want anything bad !!!
xxx
p.s. - the new bloke stood me up last night - havent heard from him yet either, cant wait for the latest excuse for it!!!! !!!!.Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -

Thanks for your post trudi.I have to keep reminding myself that the last week or so I have had way less chocolate than usual, and that in itself is progress. And with cutting out buttered toast for breakfast, I'm sure I've consumed far fewer calories than I used to. So I just need to build on that.
What do you eat when you're low carbing?
p.s. can't believe you got stood up, boo! If it were me I probably wouldn't even answer his calls/texts (unless he was involved in a national emergency or the like, obviously - but if he didn't have a decent reason then he'd be out on his ear). You are too good for him xoxoGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Exactly - its all progress. Low carbing,im avoiding chocolate (as much as poss!!) bread, rice, pasta, potatoes - stuff like that. Ive not been able to cut milk out completely, but Ive swapped to lactose free milk - im not sure if im right, but im working on the basis that lactose is sugar,so cut that and it must help !!! Ive been doing it just over 2 weeks so far, have had my naughty times, but still lost 7lbs, so so far,so good !!! :j
as for him - its kinda standard for him, I honestly thought that when we met up for the first time,we'd cracked it (hes wanted to meet up a few times, but not turned up each time - then suddenly he did !!!!) and his shyness would be over now-obviously not. He text me yesterday morning, saying that he feels like I dont trust him, which gave me a rough idea that he wasnt going to show last night - so he was the recipient of a text message telling him that if he wants me to trust him, standing me up and ignoring me wasnt the way to go about things!! :rotfl: idiot man. Cant wait to find out the latest excuse (if I get one!!) lets see how he manages to wind it round to be my fault....I'll let you know !!! Its just a shame - hes actually quite a nice bloke (apart from being a complete tit about showing up!!) but im not a doormat, nor am i so desperate that I'll put up with that sort of treatment, its just rude!! Fair do's if hes tired/had a better offer/had some sort of emergency - but to not tell me hes not coming is just bloody rude. ( IMO !!) Ive bottled it with dates before, but Id NEVER just stand someone up !!
