I really thought I had broken the addiction, but just managed to persuade DH to go on a chocolate-run to the shop for me and I am literally drooling in anticipation!! Did tell him to only bring a normal sized bar though, I guess that's progress xx

Was quite good yesterday except for having fish and chips for dinner:o

Today has been terrible, there was a birthday at work so I ate 2 big slices of choc cake and a choc chip cookie. Had some sad news this morning though so I think I'm excused :(

Food wise I have had a terrible week, chocolate or equally bad alternatives every day! Yesterday was our town's May festival day so I ate complete rubbish and also got a bit drunk:o

Anyway today is a fresh start, I just need to avoid the hangover munchies :D

How is everyone else getting on? It's a bit quiet in here!

    Hi all

Sorry I've been AWOL, have been so busy. I was doing ok till election night, then fell off the wagon and have been pretty bad all weekend. But I've done LOTS of exercise so am hoping that WI tomorrow will go ok. I'm also fully back on the wagon! I have just eaten a punnet of raspberries and am about to have a tasty dinner of roasted veg and couscous.

Hope everyone else is doing ok, I know we are all having our ups and downs but at least we're still trying. :)

ljaneyr, sorry to hear about you having bad news :( Have a hug xo

I am doing Ok at avoiding chocolate at the moment BUT I am eating biscuits, cake, crisps, scones... What on earth is going on??! Actually come to think of it it was chocolate cake too so not even avoiding that properly!

I really really need to sort this out because my jeans are all too small and my tummy and sides are feeling really tubby. We don't have a scales but at a guess I have put on all the weight I lost last year before my holiday. I need to get control of myself before I gain anymore:eek:

Resist! Resist the galaxy! It won't be as good as you thin, how will you feel when you've eaten it?

Thanks tara, getting over it now, these things happen. How are you doing with the weight loss and choc avoidance?

I feel the same. I hate looking at (and feeling) my flab. Urgh, just writing that should be enough to put me off chocolate! I have been mixed the last few days, really should not be eating chocolate at all. I have even given up my 'little chocolate treat' late in the evening to be replaced by nibbling at it all day! :o Well, not quite all day but at semi-regular intervals.

See above! :o But I am still here and still trying.

    p.s. (((hugs)))

I read about this thread on the no buying toiletries in May challenge - thanks, Tara for posting the link. I would like to join, please. I've read through all of your posts and must say it's comforting to know that there are others with the same chocolate addiction as me and that many of you are all or nothing types! Strangely enough, I haven't had any chocolate today but I have eaten some cake and biscuits. It's rare for me to have a chocolate-free day though. I don't generally keep it in the house but buy it to eat at work (I have my own office so can do this with no one else knowing - dangerous!).

I would like to lose 1.5 stone and I'm sure it is chocolate alone that has caused me to be overweight. A few years ago I did lose quite a lot of weight by calorie counting (1500 per day) and exercise and found that it was best to include a small amount of chocolate into my daily diet to avoid me having binge days. So that I didn't use up too many calories on chocolate I would have something like a finger of fudge or a curly wurly. So I know that I can do it but it is difficult to break bad habits. When I was successful with weight loss, I had to do a lot of planning ahead with meals and ingredients buying. It was like a project that had to take priority every day over everything else. Am I ready for the challenge? Yes! I will be in a meeting for a good part of the morning and when I come out it won't be long until lunchtime when I'll have a tin of soup and a slice of homemade bread (made in the breadmaker). I'll take a yogurt or banana for a mid-afternoon snack and I finish work earlier on a Friday anyway so that should do me. One day at a time...

Hi tara and everyone else too, lots of familliar faces here .
I have decided to join up and its actually good timing for me as we have a family diet challenge that starts tomorrow, basically 5 of us are putting £25 each in a pot and being weighed at my mums house tomorrow and whoever loses the most weight by october (family wedding) wins the pot. I am really hoping both the thought of losing £25 and wining £125 will inspire me:o.
I have only skimmed over the thread as a little short of time at the mo, but i really hope that this thread will do the same for my chocolate/food addiction as the toiletry thread has done for my toiletry addiction. I am an emotional eater and am gonna try and break the habbit of a life time so am expecting bad days/weeks etc but you have to try so here goes....
Good luck all and now i have another confession to make on the toiletry thread :rotfl:.

    Nab

    xx
