Well done to everyone who cut back or didn't eat chocolate yesterday :T
Very proud of myself no chocolate yesterday (apart from a cup of hot chocolate). Going to try very hard not to have any today as well. I have a couple of bars of chocolate with Daim bits in it that I really really want to eat. I don't want to throw it out because I bought it for my sister to try when she next stops by but would normally have no problem with eating it then buying her some more.
Vikki -- might be something of an odd suggestion but have you tried something like a student cookbook. The ones I've seen go from simple meals (omlettes etc) through to more involved things (roast dinners) and only seemed to use 'normal' ingredients not "take 1 ostrich egg and saute lightly" rubbish.
Thats a good idea, I am in to my packet meals at the mo, so keep putting it off learning to cook , one day!
I had one square of white choc. Having cravings for it now but am going to resist as I don't have the points and really want to loose a stone or more!0 -
Vikki - if you are interested in a student cookbook, Im about to charity shop one - its old, but still usable - pm me if you'd like it !!
Thats very kind of you:beer:
Will let someone else have the use of it though as I am not ready to learn yet:o I like my packet meals and my mum doesn't like me messing up her kitchen.0 -
Oh no - I really fancy a curly wurly after catching up on this thread. Or a Daim bar. Or a kitkat. Will try some strawberries and meringue to see if that takes away the craving, but my mouth is really watering at the thought of some chocolate - MUST BE STRONG!!
ps Belfastgirl23 - I am intrigued to know what the activities you are drawing a veil over are - my imagination is running riot!0 -

I was very nearly mugged by a 2 fingered kitkat today but surely such a small thing has no power over me!
:rotfl::rotfl:
Vikki -my sisters don't cook either. One has zero interest in food and the other has zero interest in cooking (but will happily chow down on takeout every night). If the packet meals work for you.....
Amanita - a cake with a use before in six months !? That's not a cake that's a preserved rock. Used to love shop bought cakes/biscuits etc but then I found the courage to attempt to bake again (at school my buns could have been used to knock people out). A couple of attempts later and now I don't like shop bought cakes/pasteries etc. My cakes might come out lopsided but they taste nice, I enjoy making them and the ingredients list doesn't include things I can't pronounce.
I've been good so far today. No chocolate at all. But I've eaten a bowl of strawberries and I'm still craving chocolate. I really hope this gets easier as the days go on.0 -
is it just me or has the 'thanked' bits altered again. It doesn't say how many people you've thanked anymore
ooh and now there's a 'remove your thanks' button. mmm don't know if I entirely see the point of that. Why would you have thanked them in the first place if you were then going to remove it?0 -
Evening all, wow, what a lot of chat!!!
I have been sooo good today:
Breakfast - boiled egg, 200g low fat Greek yogurt
Snack - 3 almonds and a few dried cranberries
Lunch - smoked salmon, baby plum tomatoes, spinach, couscous, mint, roasted peppers, feta, peas, dried apricots/cranberries
Snack - pear
Dinner - roasted courgette, pak choi and peppers with couscous and all the stuff listed above (except salmon)
YUM YUM!!! I have actually eaten quite a lot but it's all good healthy stuff (maybe not the feta but I only had about 20g). I am *still* craving chocolate but am trying to ignore it... telling myself that nothing tastes as good as slim feels (although that couscous did taste damn good lol). I have been buying more fruit and veg than usual and going for the really nice stuff (e.g. organic eggs rather than free range, baby plum toms rather than ordinary ones etc). My food bill has been way higher the last few days but if it helps me lose weight it's worth every penny. I'm the total opposite of MSE atm - going UP a brand!!! :rotfl: And I can't stay off eBay, all the shabby chic stuff is so tempting... am I swapping one addiction for another?????
Thanks for being here, I appreciate the support xoxoWell done! I'm still good so far but there is nothing edible within easy reach other than the rather horrid Marie Curie fundrasing cakes.
Would you ever get desperate enough to eat a cupcake with a use by date in 6 months time?!!
Er... probably not lol!!!! :rotfl:ticklepenny wrote: »Chocolate is one of my vices, the others being cheese, marmite, mayonaise and very ocasionally JD (once every 3 months lol)
I have gone from eating 1-3 big bars of chocolate a night to eating 1 small bar every other dayvery proud of my progress. Admittedly its not all will power etc. I have started taking 5htp to curb the cravings. Every little hellps.
What's 5htp?
saverholic, I was thinking the same about the RYT button, seems a bit mean to remove thanks (I guess it's useful when you accidentally thank some really horrible person cos you meant to press the quote button and tell them off lol).Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

. I'm going with the fairy dust theory though
Clearly it created a 'no chocolate' illusion!
