Just tried calling them on the customer careline (0870) number and the first person I spoke to hung up!
I called again and was passed through to India. Chap then told me I was a "preferred" customer and put me through to another Indian who said I was a "red carpet" customer, and put me through to an English lady who asked if I had more than 500 staff, so when I said no I got put on hold and passed to....
At this point I gave up and hung up.
Just have to wait for the email confirmation, otherwise I will have lost any saving on paying for telephone calls!

    Sorry, me again.
Just had a call from Paul at Dell offering me various upgrades. Took the 80Gb HDD upgrade for £15+VAT, but rejected all the others.
Faxed my order form back, now just waiting for the order confirmation and delivery will be in 8-10 days.
    Fantastic:D
Many thanks to the OP and a big well done for Dell for honouring these offers.

Glad to see that your all sorted now ;)

I am still waiting for a phone call/email/smoke signal/dead letter drop/anything! Just got the "we will supply" email and nothing since.

The h/d upgrade is worth it @ £17:63 inc as an 80 gig drive would cost you £35'ish plus delivery then the hassle of fitting it without a Dell cage, or moving all the OS etc from the 40 to the new 80gig.
What were they offering in the way of extra memory and TFT's? I was thinking it might be a cheap way of getting a 19" tft from them ;)
All Dell'd up ;) several times over :)

I got offered a 15" TFT for half price - £80+VAT. Told them it was too expensive and not very good so got offered a 17" one, but declined before they told me the price.
They also offered a memory upgrade for £45+VAT for 256MB but I told them I could get memory chips for nearly half that price, so also declined.
Personally I think only the HDD is worth taking at these prices.

the 17 inch tft is £110 plus VAT, again not really worth it.
  • Got my PDF this morning. Free upgrade to 1year on site warranty included.
    GREAT!!!!
  • Well guess what my dell system has just arrived this morning. I live in Northern Ireland and the system appears to be shipped from Limerick Ireland. I ordered a P4 system tho and added the 80gb hdd. Still a good deal I ordered it for a mate so i make some profit ;)

You're right - FREE upgrade to 1 year Next Business Day onsite warranty. These boys really are pulling out all the stops to give us a top deal!:D
Only problem now is that my delivery is scheduled for 22nd Feb and I want to start playing with this right away!
