Im getting O2 Anytime soon and Im abit confused by this...
I'm planning to use it to call Australia and France quite abit. If I call for France for less than an hour and then hang up, I won't be charged. I understand that much. But if I call back immediately, can I call for another 59 minutes for free or do I have to wait a day or week or month.
In essence is there some limit to this 1 hour feature. It can't possibly be unlimited??
Their details say you can make 600 mins/month ie just 10 of your free 59 minute calls to those 22 countries, and obviously DO watch out for calls running over the 59 minutes as the charges per minute for International are only marginally less than BTs.

Remember the MSE site has an excellent Intl call checker for non-free calls:

I'll be switching to o2 for my landline calls, line rental and Broadband. Currently with Tiscali and BT (line only) I'll cut my monthly costs by half. It's a cracking package.

Beware though if using O2 Homephone, calls to 0844/0871 numbers are very expensive.Prices quoted on callcheckers are from a BT Line.

Their site suggests otherwise and does not mention free installation.

"To take O2 Home Phone you'll need to have a BT landline already installed at your property, so that we can switch you over. You'll also need to pick one of our home broadband packages - we don't offer O2 Home Phone on its own."

There are / were issues with the service they were going to introduce. They are now rolling out boxes you buy in the O2 shops which is reimbursed apparently. They always used to need a BT line but the whole idea of their own service is that they do not need a BT line and they will have their own lines. That was as as launch the other week.

I am still deciding as well as being stuck on a BT evenings and weekends for contract for a while longer, I currently pay 12.79 E&W as long as I am on a 12 month rolling contract with BT (but my0845 are free on this) good as we use telephone banking.

It appears o2 have a fee of if you call an 0845 number in the evening, I am trying to suss out if these calls are free on E&W if anyone knows please share.

At present I pay the above 12.79 for BT E&W then about every two months I get a 2.50 bill from 1899 for my daycalls

I have until October being in BT contract to see how this new service runs before I think about moving over still unsure until all the fine print becomes clear and as one poster said early on in the thread do call overide services defiently work.

On the O2 E&W package calling 0870 & 0845 numbers in the evenings (after 6pm) or on weekends cost 9p call set up and then 1p per minute.

0870 & 0845 calls are inclusive (up to 60 minutes per call) on the O2 Anytime package.

Many thanks to the last to posters for help :)

In that case goodbye BT asap £12.50 all inclusive is better than I now pay :0), I will save on that monthly and have no reason to be using 1899 any longer happy days.

Any other customers on o2 Phone and happy with the service ? I have had 2 very happy years on the broadband account.Time to switch all of the services over.

I have an active O2 Home Phone Anytime package.

18185 is available, though of little use with the Anytime package.

    Customer service is UK based.

0844 calls are _not_ very expensive. The process for determining call costs is convoluted, involving 2 documents, but

    0844 833 3333 - Asda Home Shopping - is 9.5 p/min with BT

    and 9.5 p/min with O2.

They do change the Direct Debit mandate, from O2 to Telefonica O2, and the reference may change.

One customer has had a problem with this changeover, from the O2 fora.
