Hello I've just started doing green days but I think I am eating too much

Breakfast - alpen light and a banana
Lunch - 2 large jacket potatoes with beans and a muller light
Dinner - loads of spaghetti with quorn and tomatoes

Late night snacks - slimming world rice pudding made from recipe, 2 yoghurts, 1 banana, handful of red berries

Does anyone think this is too much? my portion sizes are also big because im hungry all of the time

    Thanks

Sounds fine to me for green, the only thing I see missing is your HE's. On green days you can chose 1 or 2 HEA choices, and 2 HEB choices. 2 alpen light bars count as 1 HEB, so you could have another bar for breakfast and then have another HEB choice at some point through the day. You could use your HEA choice to have some cheese on your jacket potatoes, or spaghetti. Also you don't seem to be having any syns, when you should be having at least 5 (but up to 15) a day. Using your HE's and your syns should make you feel less hungry.

ETA: you mention late night snacks but none during the day. If you're hungry snack between meals, especially on free food.

I'm no expert, but as one third of your plate is supposed to be superfree food (that is, fruit and most vegetables, but not parsnip, peas, beans, potatoes) you seem to be missing that.

The 1/3 rule only applies to EE days, not green or red:) *runs off to double check though*:rotfl:

Lol Clarie that's exactly what I did - and I can't find anything on the site that states 1/3 sf on green/red days (thank god!!) Plus the suggested menu clearly doesn't include sf foods with all meals :)

    Hey all,
Weigh in 2 and I lost 3 1/2lb and am really proud of myself :)

I have been doing extra easy and have actually found it to be really easy. I know it is less of the healthy extras but it's not too much planning for someone like me. I can't believe how many eggs we have eaten in our house though!

The annoying thing was paying £4.95 for 3 weeks when week one the consultant said she was leaving, week 2 it was a different, pretty mean lady and there was no meeting at the hall it should have been at tonight and we had to drive somewhere else to be weighed and no class. Not sure I appreciate paying SW that much money for nothing really. Though the lady was really nice to slip us all in at the end of her group and was much more encouraging.

    Hiya,

    Here's my list for today:

    B: Bacon, scrambled egg, tomatoes
L: 2 brown sandwiches with tuna and sweetcorn (left from yesterday).
D:Chicken, noodle, mushroom soup - chinese style. Baked potato, pork goulash creation of mine, peas sweetcorn.
Snacks: 1 sponge finger (1 syn), custard cream (2 syns) choc finger (1 syn), low fat hot choc (2 syns), bounty bar small (5 syns) total 11syns.

Weigh in tomorrow, will check in and let you know the outcome.

I have made the beef rogan josh Mrs M, so will let you all know how it tastes. I made it in my slow, so glad you were all talking about them, as I had forgotten to put it into the fridge after it cooling down.

I use my slow cooker all the time, it is brilliant. I bulk cook in it, almost anything too as it makes everything very tender. I fancy trying out a remoska, but will need to justify the cost of it.

I fancy trying making the breakfast rice in the slow, but am unsure as to whether it would work if I left it overnight, the only thing I can do is try it out I guess.;)

    Goodnight everyone. x
  • Marion - I have been thinking of getting an actifry - how much oil do you use and it make "proper chips - I really don't like the SW chips that much - I don't know what I do wrong but mine come out crispy but in a matter of seconds they have gone all soft and floppy.

I got a George Foreman compact multifunction oven/cooker thing tonight as a present from DD1 - I have unpacked it and it looks good - it is like a normal GF but it you can cook a whole joint of meat in it and it also has a baking dish which you can use in it. I was thinking of making a rice pudding because I love it. If I used my milk from hea and pudding rice and Splenda would it be free or would I have to syn the rice because it is a pudding?

Have cooked some chicken thighs tonight so that I have plenty of free food in - I have a ton of work to do tomorrow and that is when I tend to skip meals and then overeat later because I am too busy to cook in the day and too hungry to wait in the evening!

Well done to al the losers tonight!

Rupe34 - It was me who said about Richard Armitage being on telly tonight - the reason I am up so late (1.15:eek:) is because I had to record it as we had visitors and I just had to stay up and watch it! He is properly amazing (how shallow am I?).

  • Hello and welcome to another shiny new thread for all followers of Slimming World.

The Original and Green plans are still going strong but most people may well have heard of the new Extra Easy plan which is sweeping through the land :) If you've ever wondered if it works, I promise you it does. If you've ever wondered how it works - well the science confuses me, but I would just say to trust the experts at SW, they wouldn't send you on the wrong path.

If you fancy having a go at it, here are the official 'rules' to ensure that you not only lose weight regularly but get all the nutrition your body needs to function well:-

    Extra Easy:

    1: Choose your Free Food

Anything that’s Free Food on Green OR Original – so that’s pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat, poultry, fish and all the Superfree food – is totally Free on Extra Easy! Yes, you can eat unlimited meat, potatoes and veg, fish, chips and mushy peas, and chicken curry and rice with no measuring, no weighing, no counting – no kidding!
And for super-fast, super healthy results, fill one third of your plate with Superfree Food!
    2: Choose your Healthy Extras

Each day select one Healthy Extra ‘a’ choice and one Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice from our simplified list of calcium and fibre-filled foods, including milk, cheese, bread and cereal.
3: Enjoy 5-15 Syns each day

And if the Syn values for Green and Original foods are different on the standard Syns lists, count the lower one!

If you find your weight loss has slowed down or stopped, check………
1.Whether everything you're counting as Free, is Free

    2.Whether you're under-estimating Syn values (over-estimate if guessing)

3.Whether you're counting everything that should be counted

4.Whether you're measuring everything that should be measured

5.Whether you're sabotaging your success in any other way (using SAS logs will help uncover individual long-term self-sabotage patterns) and, if none of these is the culprit, either...........

A: increase the proportion of Superfree Foods to half of your plate

    OR

B: switch to more Speed Foods

And above all, if you follow the plan, any plan, 100% you will lose weight!

Im not being funny or anything but if you really can eat as many off these free foods as you want how will you lose weight?
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Well my Home WI this morning. Now starting to doubt the scales as it seems Ive lost 3.5lbs :think  :T :j

    Definitely feel loads slimmer though.

I know if Id have carried on eating the way I had with the DREADED DEPO I would have not been able to fit into the "small jeans"im growing out of.

Last nights dinner was fairly successful, the meat slightly tough, but the sauce was great, and next time Ill do this in the Slowcooker.

Sad to say another case of the midnight munchies where I ate another muller ( fine)some ginger biscuits and a cookie. Think I over synned like mad but my body was craving something after that walk in the morning.

    Food today will be
    Eggs,bacon, mushrooms galore and beans
Mango, strawbs and muller ( I ma keeping these guys in business im sure)
Lashings of diet coke and diet "fanta" style pop
    Tea ( skim milk hea)
Cous cous salad with roast turkey breast grilled aubergines, peppers, mushrooms, onion etc
Dinner will be a mammoth affair given its the election tonight and I will be staying up all night to watch it- think Ill do the mexican feast again as it went down so well the Jamie Mexican street salad, HG lettuce, grilled spicy chicken, rice and maybe a black bean soup as well.

I do think the chocolate, cereal , and other lazy munchies will come out tonight, I shall have to do my best :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Hi there everyone and well done on the losses

I have just looked at my on-line site and copied this from the EE section as its what Im doing:-
    Unlimited Free Food

Free Food is the masterstroke that makes Food Optimising, so effective and so very easy.
    • Free Food is how you satisfy your appetite even on the hungriest of days.
    • Free Food is how you learn to lose weight and keep it off for good.
Enjoy with absolutely no limits: no weighing, no calculating, no estimating, no counting, no kidding!
On this download you’ll find lists of Superfree Foods – super-satisfying for your appetite and the very lowest in calories – tuck in
    anytime, anywhere!
Fill 1/3 of your plate with Superfree Food and make them your first choice between meals. You’ll naturally limit your energy intake without counting a single calorie and you’ll be enjoying a really healthy diet, making your weight loss extra easy!
Plus all the fabulous Free Foods you can enjoy any time to satisfy your appetite, also with no limits.
Hope it helps-I can't see anything mentioned about green/red days but I just assumed that as EE is a combination of the 2 you still filled up with 1/3 superfree foods :o..Im lucky because I have always eaten silly amounts of veg n fruit so I can do the 1/3 bit easily -in fact my plate is usually at least 1/2 veggies :D

    Hi breast cancer survivor
I think the idea is that even though foods are "free" you still only eat enough to make yourself comfortably full -not stuffy puddled.
I have only been doing this 3 weeks and it really is easy -If you look at what are classed as free many are low in cals or fat free -so if you are filling up on those I guess it leaves less room for those calorie/fat dense snacks that have very little nutritional value in them.
hope that makes sense.... consultant31 will probably explain it much better:rotfl:
Right I wll pop back with my meal plan once I have made a cuppa ;)

I know its wrong but sooner or later i'm going to be tempted by this recipe here for cheesy chilli nachos *drools*:rotfl:

Claire, is there a recipe/method that goes with this? I know I can't actually call it 'free' due to the misuse of free foods thingy but we love nachos and this would be a healthier version to do as a treat and OH could still have his doritos.
