    been for my walk!
Had my breakfast...a banana, 2 plums, 2 pears, yeo valley natural ff yogurt & some quorn ham. Stuffed now. When I was in Morrisons I wanted to buy cr*p. So it's very true, don't go shopping on am empty stomoch. I didn't buy any bad stuff though! I got the milk for the baby & some kiwi fruit!

I mainly do green days and always end up having bread in some way shape or form for my lunch most days. Has anyone got any alternatives to eating bread at lunch time??

I'm really trying to shake up what I'm eating to try and get my body losing again; as I'm ashamed to say I've only lost 2 pounds over the past four weeks!:o:( My wedding is less than 8 weeks away and I really would like to shift some more weight before then. Thanks!

    Hi Aliscrapper -

I know I have bread "issues" -truth be told Im a carbohydrate junky if Im left to my own devices:p. I know that it bloats me and so since starting SW I haven't had any bread (YET) its only my 3rd week though, and I will start re-introducing it -starting with Home made Pizza nomnomnom:rotfl:

Are you at home in the day? or do you need ideas to pack up and take to work?

    how about:-
    • home made potato salad -nice with cold bacon pieces n veggies in
    • Pasta/rice salads
I have just had chunks of parsnips, carrots and onions roasted -lovely n warming and the parsnips give me that same filling feeling like bread/potatoes where as salads just make you feel cold inside (if that makes sense)

  • Hello and well done to rainbowfizz and Greenpixey on the losses:T:T Well done too to Mrsmorten on resisting the urge to buy crap in Morrisons - that is one of my big downfalls and one which I fell foul of in Tescos yesterday! Weighed in this morning and am pleased to report a 1 lb loss, which is not great given that it is only my second week and I have loads to lose, but it is better than nothing and I have had two really bad days this week. Like MrsMac I am a total carbo-junkie - I think that I may try and gear my meals more towards red choices this week, even though I will still do extra easy. I tend not to overeat stuff like meat, eggs, cottage cheese and the like but I can eat over half a packet of boiled pasta in one go no problem:o DD1 is doing SW with me to lose weight for her holiday (she's 18) and she was really disappointed to STS today at weigh in - however she has had two nights out clubbing when she had loads of cocktails and a big mac meal on the way home both nights, but I refrained from reminding her of this as she was in such a bad mood:cool: She has now decided that she will try WW points - can't see that big mac meals and a load of cocktails will be any better on WW points if I'm honest but .......

Anyway I am going to try MrsM's barbecue sauce on chicken thighs tonight, and have them with a huge salad and maybe a few steamed new potatoes. I have had a big brunch (eggs, wholemeal toast (heb) and cottage cheese and two cups of tea (part of hea)) becuase I have to go to a work meeting early afternoon and don't want to eat any of the sandwiches they will provide.

I am looking forward to watching Richard Armitage on Sky 1 tonight - I have an almost worrying obsession with him!

    Have a good day everyone!

How about things like chickpeas, sweetcorn, lentils - stuff you can't have on red and they are delicious - chickpeas and sweetcorn can be added to a bit of salad or chopped raw stuff straight from the can, or have a corn on the cob with Butterbuds for a buttery taste. Lentils - you can make a big bowl of lentil dhal and use it over a few days.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

I like to make my own hummus with tinned chickpeas, but is it true that if you mash up the chick peas then they are syns? - I make my hummus with mashed chick peas, lemon juice, salt and pepper, onion and about a tsp of tahini (which I have just looked up and is 2syns) - It is nice with a wholemeal pitta (heb) and carrot sticks.

Most days I'm at home during the day.

Thank you! I love Potato Salad. What do you use for your mayonnaise?? What do you put in with your pasta and rice salads???

I'm a carb junkie too! I didn't realise there were so many other people addicted to the carbs too! I'm in good company!:D

Well done on the losses ladies :T
    Recovering -
Im doing EE -but lean more toward the red end of the choices. I know they say that protein keeps you feeling full for longer -don't know if it has been proven, but I know that I feel full longer when I have had a decent portion of protein.

If Im honest, before I started SW I would happily have a couple of slices of home made bread toasted for lunch. Now I seem to be flitting between salads with protein or roasted veg with protein and rarely any potatoes pasta etc. Evening meals I do have rice etc -but much less than I used to ..potatoes I have 2 probably about the size of an egg....
Im ignoring the 4 packs of crumpets in the freezer for now :obut may look into having a couple every now and again -once I can trust myself ;)

Ohhh with the BBQ sauce -when I removed the lumps of meat I heated it up in a pan and used it to baste the kebabs as they were cooking and then hubby had the last little bit on his meal ;) -would have been rude to waste it -we are on MSE after all :rotfl:
