Recovering Spend: can't you make your own popcorn in the microwave (one tsp of oil in the bottom, popcorn on top, put a lid on (definitely!) and cook on high for a few mins until it stops popping or you smell burning, whichever comes first. Surely that's just about free apart from the oil,........ I'm back, ignore all that, it says it's 5.5 syns "popped without fat" for 28g. Blimey. Not that I've been eating it, but I used to. Well I'll be blowed.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

You just mix dried onion flakes with boiling water and salt and pepper and then stir in dried potato flakes (I used the sainsburys basics ones which I think are lovely) - you make a nice stiff mash and then let it cool slightly before beating in two egg yolks (I used about a third of a packet of the mash and 3tbs of onion flakes). Then I just shaped it into a round and did it a non-stick frying pan with a spray of frylight. I cooked it over a lowish heat for about 10 minutes and it went lovely and brown and really crunchy. I had syn free sausage, tinned tomatoes, scrambled egg, bacon medallion and beans and it was absolutely lovely and really filling.

This sounds yummy - do you think buttery smash would work to replace potato flakes ? and approx how much water did you use for the onion flakes - perhaps you could just come round and make it for me ?:rotfl:I was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......0 -

Passwords usually last 2 weeks, so you should be fine until WI on Wednesday (mine always lasts that long - I am quite forgetful !)I was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......0 -

Another 2lb off this week, making 7 so far. I'm following EE, and finding it very easy to stick to. I'm not being as inventive as some of you, just finding meals in the magazine or on line. But as its working, I can live with it.
We're having roast pork tonight, I just need to resist the crackling!!LBM July 2009DMP Start 1 September 2009DMP Support Number 3350 -
Barmy Cow- I put the onion in the bowl and then put the measured amount of water needed to make the potato (as per instructions on packet) less a little bit so that the mash was nice and stiff. You can use any kind of instant potato - I found that when I made it with real potatoes then it was too wet and wouldn't crisp up as easily.
Food today has been on plan but have maxed out my syns already!
Brunch - scrambled egg, sf sausage, tomatoes, beans, bacon medallion, sf potato cake, tomato ketchup (1 syn) and 57g wholemeal roll (heb) (to mop up the tomato juices:o)
Snack - fresh pineapple, half a tangerine, a plum and a packet of marmite snack a jacks (5 syns)
Dinner - baked potato, 1tsp butter (2 syns), cottage cheese, prawns, tuna and huge green salad, dressing for prawns was tomato ketchup, extra light mayo, lemon juice and low fat soured cream - was about 9 syns in total and I had a third so (3 syns), 2 leerdammer light cheese slices (hea), Mullerlight vanilla yoghurt with half a sachet of options stirred in (1.5 syns)
12.5 syns so could be worse but I need to make sure that I don't have any more. I am really full at the moment which is good.
Hope you all have a great evening!
Just came back to say Well done Pinkpower:T:TJane

28g of pork scratchings is only 7.5 syns ( i think?) check the little green handbook- I remember thinking wow scratchings are less syns than a pack of mccoys! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
