Thought Id mention the "chinese feast" I made last night.
The crab and sweetcorn soup went down quite well. Next time I wont use the cornflour as I didnt think it really thickened it much so not worth the sysn and would use more whizzed sweetcorn or even potato to thicken. The flavour was really good although I did put a generous helping of red chilli in it and didnt bother with the sherry. Also left out the sesame seeds as they seemed unneccesary use of syns
http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/crabandsweetcornsoup_89965.shtml
This made 6 generous portions so have it freezing for later in the week.I would either do this at one syn or none due to the cornflour. ( 1tsp between 6 portions do i syn this or not?) Yesterday I did as I undersynned only having a total of 6 counted up in any case.
The sezchaun sauce was nice the flavour was great- really good! but was very thin and didnt really coat the meat or anything - rather soupy. Not sure I did it right so am going to buy the books to make sure I get these right. I believe this is one syn per serving but there was easily 4 servings left to go in the fridge in a jar too.
Running low on SW essentials now, need to make a meal plan this week and go and find some mullers from somewhere today. Must buy more alpen lites as OH seems to be scoffing them too
Would anyone know, how many syns "go ahead forest fruit yoghurt slices - 2 pack" also Marmite flavour rice cakes small size bags ( not the large cakes)
Oh is making brekkie of the usual SW grill up when he rises but today has been or likely to be
3x tea + skim milk HEA
2x bananas and FF yog FREE
bacon eggs beans mushrooms SW style!
plenty of diet coke
2x alpen lites HEB
and dinner might be either a spinach & mushroom lasagne made with quark and no cheese on the top -( i like the crunchiness of the pasta without the cheese!)with garlic bread slices (3 syn) Mexican chicken with baked sweet potatoes and mexican street salad ( jamie recipe), or maybe some sort of beef casserole as I got some lean beef pices from Mr S the other day and it might be nice on this horrible rainy day!
Syns will probably be some sort of rice cakes and FF cottage cheese, crisps and possibly some chocolate :j
SW offers just too much choice! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Well done Barmeycow and MrsMCawber on your great losses!:T0

Ok, night out 3 of 3.
Did really well all day, stayed with the plan, mostly super free stuff, then had pasta before I went out. (BTW Aldi pasta in sauce has less syns than the batchelors ones, and are much tastier)
Got to the Wedding and found 3 drinks to be 9 quid!!!!!!
So sent brother in law to Mr T's for a half bottle of Gin, would you believe one of the biggest hotels in the area ran out of slimline tonic : (
So I had almost 1/4 bottle of gin, (shared with my sis) and two tonics.
Ok so far, then came the sandwiches, Ohhhhhh Shoot, my worst nightmare, I am a party freak, give me savouries over sweet every time.
So I had 6 sandwiches, but I only ate 1 slice of bread : ) I ate the meat and salad fillings out of them and left the bread, but I fell through when it came to the egg mayo, my fav.
And there were huge bags of penny sweets for everyone, and I only ate 2 sweets andgave away the rest.
The huge cupcake...............is sitting on my coffee table to give to my daughter as she could not make it to the wedding.
I am really enjoying this site, and find everyones experiance to help me so much. I have found I am (really) cooking for the first time in years.
So many thanks folks, keep up the good work.

Mrs M and Barmy Cow - well done on the weight losses (and well done to Mr M as well):T
Lynzpower - just looked on the syns online ad the McVities Forest fruit yoghurt breads are listed as 3.5 per 18g slice and the marmite rice shancks are 5 per 25g bag and 6 per 30g pack. I love the marmite snacks but don't think they are worth 5 syns really....
I have just made a lovely brunch - I made syn free potato cakes to have with instead of bread and they were lovely. You just mix dried onion flakes with boiling water and salt and pepper and then stir in dried potato flakes (I used the sainsburys basics ones which I think are lovely) - you make a nice stiff mash and then let it cool slightly before beating in two egg yolks (I used about a third of a packet of the mash and 3tbs of onion flakes). Then I just shaped it into a round and did it a non-stick frying pan with a spray of frylight. I cooked it over a lowish heat for about 10 minutes and it went lovely and brown and really crunchy. I had syn free sausage, tinned tomatoes, scrambled egg, bacon medallion and beans and it was absolutely lovely and really filling.
We are thinking of going to the pictures this afternoon but I am hesitant because I know I will want the popcorn and pick and mix. Don't know what to do yet........Jane

CxMy favourite Muller is the rhubarb one, again not too sweet, but it does have little strands of rhubarb in.
:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

That sounds delish, can I come for breakfast please?:rotfl:
It seemed to go very well and everyone enjoyed it. I made the little burgers (extra lean mince, onion and seasoning) and pressed them into the wafer thin ham in the muffin tray and baked them in the oven. I hoped to put the eggy mix on the top but there was not enough room and so I scrambled the eggs and fried up some lean bacon medallions, mushrooms and tomatoes and heated through some beans and served a little stack on half a muffin with a cheapy low fat cheese slice on top. Tada! Anyone tell me the syns in a low fat cheese slice? Other than that I think it was free with my HeB :jGod is good, all the time
Do something that scares you every day

That potato cake sounds lovely. I'll have to try that.
I had an annoying blip yesterday- we went to the in-laws for lunch and the always do salad, jacket potatoes and quiche so I thought I would be safe having a sliver of quiche and synning it. Unfortunately this time they did lots of yummy bread instead of potatoes so I reckon ~I had about 20 syns in bread, plus about 7 in quiche. So annoying as it wasn't particularly nice but I was starving so ate it! Had free curry and rice for tea though, so not too bad a day.
Quick Q- when does the online password expire? I was on hols this wednesday so am still using last week's one. Will that stop working tomorrow? If so i'll be asking lots of syn values until this wednesday's WI!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
