I just ate one of the orange and chocolate ones, delish! The packs of 6 are BOGOF in Mr Ts this week so I have put aside 6 to take to work. Anyone tried to freeze them? Not sure I could be bothered to keep stirring it every half an hour...
Will try those burgers, thanks for the recipe!God is good, all the time

I think the key might be having something as my healthy b that is sweet, like you guys suggested, rather than a breakfast item, means I have it as a back up snack!
I am making breakfast for some friends tomorrow and am going to do my best to make it SW friendly, that means a bit of planning. I saw something cool before that I going to try, where you spray a muffin tray with frylight and line the holes with a couple of layers of wafer thin ham, then you make a kind of quiche in the holes and bake in the oven. I heard a nice 'breakfast burger' recipe with extra lean mince so am thinking ham, then a thin patty of that topped with an eggy topping. Serve with beans and tomatoes and mushrooms with bread for them, how does that sound?Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.0 -
Ok, night out 3 of 3.
Did really well all day, stayed with the plan, mostly super free stuff, then had pasta before I went out. (BTW Aldi pasta in sauce has less syns than the batchelors ones, and are much tastier)
Got to the Wedding and found 3 drinks to be 9 quid!!!!!!
So sent brother in law to Mr T's for a half bottle of Gin, would you believe one of the biggest hotels in the area ran out of slimline tonic : (
So I had almost 1/4 bottle of gin, (shared with my sis) and two tonics.
Ok so far, then came the sandwiches, Ohhhhhh Shoot, my worst nightmare, I am a party freak, give me savouries over sweet every time.
So I had 6 sandwiches, but I only ate 1 slice of bread : ) I ate the meat and salad fillings out of them and left the bread, but I fell through when it came to the egg mayo, my fav.
And there were huge bags of penny sweets for everyone, and I only ate 2 sweets andgave away the rest.
The huge cupcake...............is sitting on my coffee table to give to my daughter as she could not make it to the wedding.
I am really enjoying this site, and find everyones experiance to help me so much. I have found I am (really) cooking for the first time in years.
So many thanks folks, keep up the good work.Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.0 -
Thrilled to report a 2.5lb loss this week - just 0.5lb off my first stone :j (fingers crossed it will be this week). Also started training for Race for Life - we are now averaging 10k each session (power walking, not running) so this should help.
Made the ss soup - very yummy and surprisingly filling and I use some of my crackerbreads to replace regular bread, it's nice to dip things in soup !
Also tried the 1/2 syn swiss roll and even though I made this wrong, it was still gorgeous and felt very treaty - will be trying again today to see if I can actually follow a recipe properly.:D
Good luck to everyone tomorrow - it tends to be high days and holidays that my meal plans fall apart so I will be eating plenty of ss soup and hoping I don't "share the benefits" with OH and my colleagues on Tuesday....:oI was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......0 -

I joined SW a week and a half ago and in my first week lost 1/2 (it was my 'star week' but didn't feel the need to share that with a roomful of strangers. Though I have told all of you!)
I think it is great how much of the stuff I love that I can eat, pasta, mmm!
My only problem is that I have a really sweet tooth and fruit doesn't always cut it. I like the options hot chocolates, particularly the orange ones, and that is only 2 syns but does anyone have any other ideas? I found a recipe for a chickpea cake that sounds worth a try but would like other snack ideas that aren't too high in syns.
Thanks all!
Hiya
One of the things Im going to do today is a version of something they sell in EAT so I cant take the credit for it!
TAke a sundae glass or ramekin type thing, slice bananas and lay on the bottom. EAT then smother this with honey ( im trying to work out the syns or a synfree alternative) then natural yog ( fat free, syn free obv!) then sprinkle sugar on the top of this ( granulated sweetner is fine) then top with grape nuts ( can be from your HEB or synned) just a thin layer on the top. This makes a lovely crunchy "crumble" like topping. You can sprinkle a little cinamon/ nutmeg on, or a scraping of chocolate curls if you wanted to as well. I have also used chocolate yog in the past and coconut yoghurt which were gorg but I havent found a syn free version of this yet!
Slimming or not- this is a lovely dessert/ snack, cheap too.In eat they charge over £2.00 for these
Also the baked bananas with cinamon and brown sugar ( I have the splenda brown sugar version) look really nice. I find cooked bananas are very sweet. Again a little grating of chocolate in might be nice. Not sure how to syn this yet.
I have a really sweet tooth so am on the lookout for recipes too, preferably as syn free as possible.
Im wondering whether if there is a fat free/ syn free chocolate yoghurt, you could make some sort of jaffa cake style Sundae with choc yog, mandarins and the sponge fingers that I think Lynne mentioned. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

I'm afraid that the strawberry mullers do have lumps in them, I don't mind that, but my sister is exactly the same as you - she does not do lumps:rotfl:.
The raspberry and cranberry ones are smooth as are the vanilla and mandarin ones. HTH.
The sainsburys versions of mullers I had the strawb ones dont hardly have any bits in - they are on offer at 3 for £1 at the mo.
Thanks for telling me the linda sausages are 2 syns Ill definitely save them for a dinner with mash then as opposed to an add on to a SW brekkie. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Morning all
Well Im happy to report a loss of 4.5lbs this morning :j -so 8lbs in 2 weeks -I can live with that -especially if I get to eat the lovely recipes we have had this week
Hubby lost another 2lb this week -and he hasn't had to give up his  either -so he is happy. We mainly eat the same meals -but he sometimes gets fed at the golf course -so I know this week he had curry wurst n chips and I also made some baguettes and he had those with becon and egg on the days he had to be at the golf course early -so I think he has done really well.
Well done on the loss Barmy cow (and anyone I might have missed) :T
ohhhh and HopePray how on earth are you hanging on to your sanity with 3 days out in a row  -WELL DONE ... I do have a sweet tooth but give me crisps, bread, potatoes, pies n pastries and Im in piggy heaven
Im a carbohydrate junky -but I have found that so far I have avoided bread as I know what Im like-I only make my own ...which leads to bread and organic butter . I will slowly re-introduce it once I have got to grips with control -I also know it bloats me -so I might just get my fix by making a pizza once every couple of weeks or so. I use my baguette dough -and god are they scrummy :silenced:. I also make flour tortillas -so I think that is a good option as 1 or 2 of them stuffed should give me my fix :rotfl:
RecoveringSpendaholic -just pick yourself up, dust yourself down and put a line through [STRIKE]Greggs[/STRIKE] no 1 meal can undo all your hard work ;)and don't get me started on sausage rolls, pork pie n pasties -Im like a human waste disposal with those! Im glad that out here I can only really get that kind of thing in the NAAFI and they don't even have the nice ones :T so its not something I cross paths with very often -although Germany does have a ready supply of Frikadelen mmmmmmmmmmm
The SW Orange "Cheesecake" is :-
serves 4- 1 sachet sugar free orange jelly crystals
- 142ml/1/4pt boiling water
- 454g/1lb fat free natural cottage cheese
- 198g/7oz fat free natural fromage frais
- juice 1 orange (I added zest too)
- dissolve the jelly in the water and leave to cool
- push the cottage cheese through a sieve
- mix in fromage frai, juice/zest and cooled jelly
- pour into a flan dish and chill for about 2hrs
*Im doing it again but Im going to blast the cottage cheese in the blender as when I put it through the sieve it still had a slightly grainy texture once set -and Im funny with textures:o*
My EE meals today will be:-- 250ml semi skimmed (A)
- 2 weetabix(B)
- Apple
- chicken n veg stirfry with SW 5 spice sauce (0.5syn)
- strawberries
- sage and onion pork steak
- steamed potatoes
- carrots
- cabbage
- broccoli
- cauli
- peas
- sweetcorn
- 2stp bist chicken (1syn)
- As always I will be filling the gaps with fruit and possibly an 8syn yogurt

I'm going to Asda this afternoon. Thinking of having a pasta salad with beans this week, so any suggestions of what kind of beans to use would be nice or if anyone got a recipe for me0

I make mine by cooking pasta shapes (I like the little bowtie ones) then adding drained and rinsed chickpeas, kidney beans, sweetcorn and chopped up peppers. For the dressing I use a tbsp of salad cream mixed with a tablespoon of lemon juice - mix through the pasta while it is still warm then add the vegetables. If using a tin of each type of veg and a small packet of pasta this could make enough for lunch all week! You can of course use other salad dressings instead but you will find it works better if you put the dressing on to the warm pasta. Then keep in fridge and eat as desired!
Marion:)When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
I really like mushroom based pasta sauces and its also nice cold too. Dried mushrooms like porcini are really good as when you soak them the water can be used in the whizzing and has a lovely strong flavour.
I thought I might make mushrooms fried in frylite ( maybe the butter one but I havent found this anywhere yet) . Then take the mushrooms and whizz in a blender with your "sauce" I have made this before using double cream  and its lovely, Im hoping it will be fine with FF fromage frais or quark. Im Sure it will!
Light tomato ( passata based) or "roasted" red pepper sauce is also good for pasta
I like a bean salad with mixed beans and a chilli dressing - im sure there is a syn free chilli dressing around somewhere? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
