    morning losers!

well i'm stuck! i havent lost anything at all in about a week which you probably all think is normal but for me im losing like 2 pound a week and its only doing it this week to spite me!

when i started i was a size 24 and i know i SHOULD be grateful but im in such a sulk today!

basically i want to wear this dress at the weekend which set me back a small fortune and is a size 18. It only went up to an 18 so i didnt really have much choice in the matter and can't go back and change it...

anyway i've been wearing size 20 clothes and bought a couple of skirts that fit in an 18, then bought a dress with a fitted waist with no stretch in an 18 and it fits me perfectly... yet my BEAUTIFUL dress doesnt! so i'm utterly depressed! my only other alternative is a size 24 dress - which in fairness looks AMAZING in comparison to how it used to - with my gut sticking out! but I just feel so fat and frumpy! :-(

Today was weigh in day for me after my first week. I am pleased to report an 11 lb loss which has astounded me given that I have eaten VERY well and it is also my star week. I have a huge amount to lose but still feel very encouraged! In the past I have always allowed myself a few treats on weigh day but today I decided that there was enough nice free food in for me not to want to! I didn't have breakfast (because of weigh in:o) and for lunch I had stir fry veg with noodles mixed with a bit of soy sauce and tomato ketchup (2 syns) and rice vinegar mixed with a bit of splenda - it gives a sort of sweet and soury flavour IYKWIM. I haven't decided what to have for tea - I have lean mince, chicken thigh fillets and baked beans in and I can't decide which one to have - Imight do the mince with loads of veg and stir the beans through and have it on a jacket potato. Snacks so far have been a mulleright toffee yoghurt.
    !

Wow thats a great loss,:eek: congratulation :T:T You will have to post up a few more of your menus :D

After being STS for goodness knows how long, I started eating more fish on EE and red days and the scales seem to be moving in the right direction again thank goodness :) Was happy with my STS as am on medication which have a side effect of weight gain but even happier with losing too

    Morning all

Whoop Whoop on the losses everyone :T and a special :j for you RcoveringSpendaholic..what a cracking start :T -keep up the great work...
Karen23 -sending out positive thoughts for you and your dad -

Well we went out for a walk yesterday so thats 1hr of stomping through the woods that will have hopefully burnt a few cals :p

Here are the recipes asked for :-
I did mine slightly different as I made my sauce in the remoska -and then once cool I added raw sliced chicken and left to marinade in the fridge until tea time -then cooked until the chicken was done ;)
oooohhhh and I think it would be much better with a dollop of tomato paste added at the blitz stage (to add depth to the flavour) -but here is the original recipe (with added blue notes in true MSE style :p):-

    Mexican chilli Chicken recipe:-
    Free on original
    serves 4
    preheat oven to 200c/gas6
    1. 2lb tomatoes -halved ..... you could swap for tinned/passata
    2. 6 red or orange peppers -halved and deseeded -could use frozen
    3. 7 cloves garlic -peeled but left whole
    4. 2 chillies -deseeded and halved
    5. 2 onions quartered
    6. 4 skinless chicken breast -cooked and cut into strips -or use leftover roast
    • Place all the veg in a roasting tin and dry roast for about 20 mins -until the peppers start to colour
    • transfer to blender and process until smooth
    • pour into sauce pan and add chicken and heat through for 10-15 mins
*taken from slimming world 100 free original recipes

    egg fried rice:-

there is no set recipe as such -you can alter the veg according to what you like or what you have to use up.....

the only importan things are to cook the rice the night before -or early in the day -so it has chance to get really cold, and to scramble the eggs in the pan before adding the rice -it stops that awful clogging together;)
    1. long grain rice (cooked and cooled the night before -keep in a jug of water in the fridge) -I use 60g raw weight each if using as an accompaniment
    2. onions
    3. mushrooms -I like frozen ones -defrosted...and squeezed out
    4. peppers -you can always use frozen -defrosted and squeezed
    5. frozen peas -defrosted
    6. frozen sweetcorn -defrosted
    7. eggs -I use 1 per person
    8. seasoning
    9. 1tsp oil -but you can always use spray (I don't like it;))
    • Get a large non-stick fryin pan and add oil over a medium heat
    • add onions and cook until soft
    • add mushrooms and peppers and cook for 5-10 mins until cooked
    • throw in peas and sweetcorn and cook briefly
    • pull all the veg to the outside or the pan and increase the heat a little
    • add plenty of seasoning to the eggs
    • add a little of the egg at a time and "scramble" -then push to the side and add a little more egg- repeat until all egg is cooked
    • Now stir all together and add the well drained rice-stir to combine well and keep over a medium heat -stirring ocasionally until heated through -check seasoning and serve,
You can also add leftover chicken, prawns, ham etc to make more of a single dish... or hubbies fave -I drop slices of salami into the hot pan instead of using oil at stage 1 -then carry on with the rest -its also lovely cold -hubby takes leftover for lunch
Hope that makes sense...give me a yell if anything isn't clear :rotfl:

ooohhhh Todays meals for me are:-
    • 250ml semi skimmed milk (A)
    • pear
    • salad
    • ham
    • 1tbs yogurt dressing
    • skinless boneless salmon fillet
    • vegetable stir fry
    • fruit
I have just made a beef rogan josh for tomorrows tea -thought it would be nicer if left to stand over night ....so far it tastes rather nice (and Im not even a curry fan) -I will report back tomorrow and let you know the verdict and share the recipe if anyone wants it...

Sorry for the epic essay :rotfl:

Thanks for that MsMcawber ( havent seen you about in ages

So far so good this morning, although the biscuits are calling I dont want to use my syns on those as they dont go too far LOL!

Im having a chinese fest tonight am making:
Szechuan Pork with egg fried rice ( thanks for reminder I'll do the rice in a sec) ( my sister gave me the recipe its in he sauces book which im going to buy)
Crab and sweetcorn soup to start with
and I might ( only might tho) endeavour to make the ginger chesecake I found in one of the old SW mags my sis gave me.
Otherwise it will be fruit but I want to convince OH that slimming world isnt about a diet and "not having" as he could do with losing a little too ;)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

    Hi Lynzpower :D

I will be interested to hear how the szechuan goes down -I have that book(they only arrived on Monday) and Im hanging my nose over that recipe :p
out of the 4 "100 recipe" books I got I think the sauce one is the best ;)

My hubby is doing this with me too - luckily there is very little he won't eat... and he could live on jacket potato and cottage cheese (one of our faves) ... but Im trying more recipes in an attempt to stop boredom setting in -He doesn't have a sweet tooth  *don't know what thats all about* :rotfl: -I should be grateful ...mind he doesn't even eat fruit  -so as I eat enough fruit to keep a gorilla happy I rarely have to do anything sweet.
My thing is trying to use a few syns in meals as possible -that way hubby gets to have a beer/wine etc ...
right -enough waffle ..back to my recipe books and mela planning..
    Have a lovely day everyone:D

lost 2lbs this WI, but haven't been for a couple of weeks and had gone off plan, but got myself back on track this week, and as a consequence this has brought me to my stone award! *yay* Ideally I'd like to get another stone off but I haven't been at that weight since I was 15, so don't know how I'll look, so I'm just seeing how it goes. 4lbs to go now for my club 10, that's my next mini goal!
0lbs/18lbs to get to club 10
  • well its day 3 of me being back on track and it is going well, the weekend is the tricky bit tho! need to be well prepared!

Hi all - you are doing so well - well done. I joined SW last June and have lost 7 stone on EE. Mind you theres about another 6 stone to go but I am really chuffed with how easy it is.

One question - you keep mentioning magic porridge and marion's breakfast rice - can anyone explain? I have read through the 20 pages but must have missed it.

Hi there ninno - I have never tried it -but I have found the breakfast rice..
Thought it was about time I posted my breakfast rice recipe up again!

Cook 1/2 cup of pudding rice in 1 cup of water for about 20 minutes (I use my remoska). Remove from heat put into a bowl, add fruit and a complementing muller yogurt and mix together! ie rice with sliced banana and toffee yogurt, rice with frozen blueberrys and a blueberry yogurt, rice with mandarin segments (chopped) and mandarin yogurt. For best results eat straight away while it is nice and warm! Tastes really nice and is very very filling! Also free on SW green and EE so can be made any time you fancy it really! You don't have to use muller yogurt by the way - any syn free fruit yogurt will do!

    Marion:)
Congratulations on an amazing weight loss :T .... I have lost 6st before on WW -but plonked it all back on :o ... so I thought I would try SW -hopefuly it will help me learn how to keep it of once I get it off :p

Mrs M has posted my rice recipe just before this one, the magic porridge is simply porridge oats mixed with yogurt and left to soak in the fridge over night. The oats swell up and go soft and takes on the taste of the yogurt. You can then of couse had chopped up fruit for you superspeed part of the meal and to make it even more tasty!

ps - the magic porridge isn't my recipe, I am sorry but I don't know where it came from:(
