Morning all. I'm having a green day today. Mum and dad are coming over and we're going to push dad along the sea front in his whelchair then it's chippy tea  I'll be having 2 fish cakes and not eating the batter and also having mushy peas so It'll not be too bad on syns.

    Here's the plan for today:

    Brekkie - 42g weetabix crunchy bran (HEA&B)
lunch - mixed salad, fat free dressing, 4 x ryvita, laughing cow triangles (HEA&B)
Tea - Chippy fish cakes and mushy peas.

I made some banana bread last night and have brought some to work for my colleagues. I have a tiny piece for myself which is literally 1 mouthful :A check out my halo lol!

Well going by the calories it would be 1 or 1.5 syns (max) for 100g so the syns for a tsp will be so negligible that it should be syn free.

I was doing really well up until Sunday, when things went a bit awry at the seaside. But then yesterday went a bit wrong too and I realised I am already getting bored of the same old thing and feel like i'm limiting my food too much.

I'm going to try the couscous frittas for lunch today (thanks takeiteazy) and for dinner ideas I have found some SW recipes online, but my main barrier is breakfast.

I never usually have much of a stomach for breakfast, and I can't handle fruit or yoghurt early in the morning as it seems too sickly.

I have tried ryvita and laughing cow which was nice but a bit plain, and cereal which is fine but too dull (and expensive) to have every day.

I would do a cooked breakfast but as I say I rarely have the stomach for much food till a few hours after i'm up.

So basically I am asking if anyone can give me some ideas for breakfast please?? Thanks B.

I'm the same - I can't face food in the morning.

Do you go to class? If so you can get hifi bars to eat on the go (1 bar is 1 HEB or 6 syns).

I don't like cereals and I hate weetabix but have found that I quite like Morrisons Organic version of weetabix. They are about the same price, and have one with hot milk (1/2 HEB) in the morning - it goes mushy and is easy to eat. Then I have 2 scan-bran (1/2 HEB) later in the morning with dairylea as a snack.

The other thing I do is keep a big bowl of salad made from lots of free veggies plus a chopped apple and some grapes in the fridge with a creamy dresssing (low fat mayo mixed with quark). I'll often have a bowl of that for breakfast.

Hi LazyDaisy, thanks for the ideas. I dont go to class i work from home so technically I can have whatever I want for breakfast i just have no imagination!

When I used to work in an office I used to have a Nature Valley granola bar and a cuppa then some fruit later on. Are there any other cereal bars aside from HiFi bars that count as Heb? (would be annoying to start the day with syns!) I dont go to the SW group so don't think I can get my hands on hifi bars anywhere else.

I think having something with a mixture of fruit/veg, carbs and protein helps me feel full for longer

At the moment I am having 2 1/2 scan bran (which you can get from H+B pretty cheaply) with smoked salmon, quark and cottage cheese, bit of pepper and lemon

I have had them sometimes with a thin smear of marmite and then cottage cheese on top

You could do a sweeter version with a sliced banana and quark and a little bit of sweetener

If you want a lighter breakfast then a chopped banana in a muller light and then an alpen light bar crumbled on top is delicious, 2 alpen light bars can be a Healthy B and they are really tasty!

I like a good boiled egg for breakfast too, we make them the night before and put them in the fridge and just chomp on them :)

I really like omlettes or poached eggs on the weekend when I have more time and that frylight buttery is really good for cooking up some mushrooms and tomatoes in a pan to go with them

I am also a big fan of eating raw carrots and celery and cucumber... If you made up a dip in the fridge you could pick at bits like that and just dunk them in and nibble :)

    HTH
