Good afternoon all
Another hot n sticky day here -but I think a storm is a brewing *please let it cool things down*
Ayway I got out and cut the lawn earlier and did some shoveling and sweeping -heck I was dripping by the time I had done
Hubby is away until friday -so my meal layout has changed, just trying to pre-empt any "ooh Im on my own munchies" occuring
So for today it looks like this:-- banana
- blackberries
- natural yogurt
- 2 bacon
- 2 eggs-scrambled
- mushrooms
- tomatoes
- 2 peaches
- strawberries
- 250ml semi (A)
- 1tsp camp (0.5)
- melon
- pineapple
- bolognaise
- 198g steamed potatoes (B)
- lettuce
- cucumber
- tomatoes
- peppers
- celery
- carrot
- 150g vanilla quark (4)
- mixed berries
- 2 ryvita (B)
- 42g low fat cheddar (A)
-but I suppose that leaves me 10.5 "emergancy syns" incase the munchie monster comes a calling
. Normally hubby being at home is enough to keep him at bay...."what are the army doing taking him away?". I should be fine as I have the cheese n biccies for supper and then I can either use 8-10 on a creamy yogurt or use less on a cereal bar...ooohh and I need to fit more fruit in too
.
I was planning on having the bacon etc for brekkie but it was to warm, so I swapped it around -I think it should work well for me as lunch will keep me full for longer (protein does that for me)....
I have done a little on the wii -will get more done later...
hope everyone is well and has a good week...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Mrs M, one of the things I really like about your posts, aside from all the colour and smileys, is that you and your hubby sound like you have a lovely relationship. You always speak very fondly of him and that warms my heart!
I am hoping to have lost a little more by Wed but feeling a little bloated today, I used my syns last night on half a portion of chip shop chips, was a little fancy though and ate them on a plate with some balsamic vinegar on, mmm... I am hoping it is just the salt making me feel like that and it will all even out by Wednesday!God is good, all the time

Hello folks.
Quorn chilli for tea here, with a generous dollop of extra LF cottage cheese, all for free :j. I'm trying to decide whether I can be bothered to make butternut squash chips to go with it too.....
Well done for anyone who had an 'on track' weekend. I had my second hen weekend in two weeks, but could have been much worse! I turned down all sweets and didn't drink very much. It's funny how quickly your tastes change, isn't it. I'm not really into sweets any more.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Hi all - long time no post;)
Have had some time away from SW to get my head round a few things - not least of which changing the way I eat completely to get as much iron into my diet as possible (long story).
ANyway - its time to get back on the wagon, but with much more emphasis on RED and far less on green!
Today has been day one back on plan - so we shall see how it all goes....Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

I tried the buttery fry light on corn on the cob and wasn't impressed. It didn't taste awful, I just couldn't really see any benefit at all from the couple of squirts. On the other hand, I remembered just how delicious corn on the cob is, even without butter and seems like a treat rather than eating an extra portion of veggies.
I will try using it to fry/ roast with and let you know what I think of that. I have to admit the white chemical look didn't fill me with enthusiasm.
I had corn on the cob the other day and I weighed out 10g of butter (3.5 syns). When the cob was cooked I smeared butter on it and it USED HARDLY ANY OF THE 10G!!!! Not even half a syns worth! I didn't have it dripping, just smeared it all over. I used some more of the 10g on another cob the next day and there was still loads left. I tossed that into some soup that I made, just to get rid of it! So, imo, it's hardly worth bothering with fake butter on yummy stuff like corn on the cob!:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

• 150g couscous
• 200ml hot vegetable stock
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 1 bunch spring onions
• 100g Cheddar cheese
• 4 tbsp sunflower oil (I'm going to try using a spray oil)
1. Place the couscous in a bowl and pour over the hot stock. Cover with cling film and leave to stand for 15 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, finely shred the spring onions and grate the cheese.
3. Fluff up the grains of the couscous with a fork. Mix in the onions and cheese, together with the eggs. Shape into 8 cakes.
4. Heat 2 tbsp of the sunflower oil (or your spray oil) in a non-stick frying pan and cook 4 cakes for 2-3 minutes per side. Place on kitchen paper, then heat the rest of the oil and cook the second batch.
I reckon, over 4 people that makes 25g of cheese so you could have these as a HExA option. They are so yummy and don't have the texture of couscous at all once made up
Heres the couscous frittas
Thanks goes to Carmen for this recipe :TIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
