    Your tea sounds lovely, TakeItEazy!

    I lost 3lb tonight :j which meant my 1 and a half stone :j and my club 10 :j.

I use normal olive oil in a spray pump and I count it as free as long as I only use one or two pumps. Any more than that and I count a syn for it.

I got some prawns in the freezer I'd like to use up....but I guess I cant have Marie Rose Dressing anymore...so... Any tasty suggestions what I can do with the prawns please (No warm meals, I cant stand cooked prawns)

Also can someone please clarify how many syns we are allowed, is it 10 or 15??

Colmans Seafood sauce is 2 syns for a tbsp and makes a nice tasty prawn cocktail.

For even less syns you can mix extra light mayo (0.5 syn for 1 tbsp) and some tomato puree (which is 0.5 syn for a tbsp but you don't need that much..i tend not to count tom puree when adding a dash to things as it's very hard to count fractions of syns! Shhh, don't tell anyone ) and that makes a nice tomatoey dressing.

Other than that... I made a nice prawn curry but you wouldn't like that as it's hot... hmmmm....Oh, there is a recipe for prawn cakes in current magazine... you could have them cold with salad as a lunch?

Could I ask how much any of you are spending on your groceries? I know that I spend way too much, but I have been finding with Slimming World that I have saved a lot on buying sandwiches at work every day but I am spending a lot on fruit.

I am pleased with my weightloss so far, a total of nine pounds, but would really like some money saving tips.

I have got into omelette with quark in a big way and my home grown salad and spinach is doing well at the moment, but I find when I buy a big bag of apples to save money I am more tempted by other goodies, wheras when I buy cherries, I am much happier with the cherries, but the cost is higher.

Maybe the answer is that if I want to lose weight, I have to spend some money and the cost of the fruit surely only equates to the cost of the chocolate and takeaway food I was eating before.

Have you tried buying from a greengrocer or market? I got a huge pineapple for 50p and three butternut squash for £1 yesterday!

I know what you mean about the cherries and other goodies being more of a treat, but I try to buy when on offer, and make a punnet last a few nights.

I'm with you on not counting the fractions of syns ;).

I also don't count chewing gum... 0.5syn for 5 pellets of sugar free gum... and I might have one or two pieces a week... not worth it. Besides, it's really not chewing gum what's making me fat! :rotfl:

    Tinned Fruit
Is there really any problem with eating tinned fruit in fruit juice(with fruit juice drained).
Fresh chopped pineapple getting very expensive for breakfast.
If u ate a similar amount compared to what u ate if fresh, do u think it would still help u lose weight.
I know Slimmingworld says not to. Has anyone done this & still lost?

Hi! I think the reason that tinned fruits are syns is that they contain a lot more sugars and therefore more calories than fresh because it is sat around in it's own juice (or syrup, which is worse)

I guess you would be ok... but as long as you are aware you are 'cheating' and know it i something you could change if it stops working.

1 pineapple ring is one syn... so you could have 2 or 3 with some youghurt and account for them in your syns...

    WTG on the loss :T:T:T

I use olive oil spray but always syn it at 2 same as a spoonful, probably not a spoonful though but like to err on the side of caution.

you can just throw them into a salad (watercress is my favourite) with whatever salady things you like, or you could dip them into a spicy tomato dip (chopped tinned tomatoes, chilli, onion all blended together? I'm making that up, I just imagine that would work), or dip them into plain yog with chilli or herbs or whatever you fancy. PS If they are pink they are already cooked, I expect you know that really ;); it's when they are grey and transparent that they are raw.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
