Thanks bettyb - blue wkd is 13.5 syns. I can find the vk manufacturer online just not the vk blue
Cheers - I won;t be having a blue wkd anyway, my second fave is vk blue which is why i asked..... ta0 -
Full fat Halloumi is 4.5 syns for 28g and reduced fat halloumi is 3.5syns for 28g ( so the tesco one is 3.5 syns for 28g)
Vogels soya + linseed bread is 5 syns per slice
Apple juice from concentrate is 3 syns for 28ml (hardly anything!), not from concentrate is 2.5 sys for 142ml so definitely avoid concentrate! (must be unsweetened though)
Soda water and lime will be FREE
And as long as is sugar fee/no added sugar/low cal squash is FREE
You can get apple flavoured squash too...
If not the low cal/sugar free blackcurrant squash is 4 syns for 250ml.
Wow thanks for all the info.
Does the soya and linseed bread count as HeB at all ???
Argh lots of syns in my fave things! Can't believe the apple juiceJust bought a 4pack! Will have just a little bit mixed with soda water to lessen the syn value.
I have sugar free blackcurrant (robinsons/tesco) but not sugar free lime (roses).
Update: Good lord I just worked out 150ml of apple juice (basically an inch or so in a glass) is 13 syns!! I've accidentally gone massively over on my first day!:(:(:(:(
do you think I can make up for it by doing some exercise??Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

Think lime will be same synwise as non-sugar free blackcurrant squash..0 -
Starting the day with a Muller light cherry yogurt (free, if i'm not mistaken) a banana and a cup of tea with 1/2 HeA milk (I've measured 125ml into a jug to use throughout the day as I usually have 2 - 3 cups).
Baked beans on wholewheat toast (heb) witha poached egg for lunch and then an orange
As a snack I have celery and cucumber with tzatsiki (0.5 syns per tbsp, probably have about 1.5 syns worth)
For dinner I'll have pasta with courgette, red onion, red pepper and 1 tsp extra v olive oil (1 tbsp=6 syns so 1 tsp is about 2 syns) with a bit of low fat cheddar for the other half of HeA.
and then for 'dessert' I'll probably have a highlights hot choc (2syns)
Total of 5.5 syns, which allows me room if I slip up a bit or if I fancy some sweetcorn in my pasta dish.
this is my first SW day plan so please feel free to advise me if i've gone wrong or if you have any suggestionsThanks so much.
Well done to all who have lost weight this week, and have a lovely day in the sunshine everyone!
B.
Just a thought but as you've had no meat there you could change that to a green day and you'd therefore be able to have an extra HEA and HEB choice.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
No the apple juice is from concentrate. Just blown a day's syns without even realising. so annoyed as it's my first day of doing it properly but since my book doesn't have drinks in I didn't think of it on timeBetty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

yah i guess so. will have to avoid it. going to hide the apple juice so my oh doesn't know i'm not drinking it. we're not exactly in a financial position to be wasting food/drink but I dont want to drink it now.c_l_a_i_r_e wrote: »Just a thought but as you've had no meat there you could change that to a green day and you'd therefore be able to have an extra HEA and HEB choice.
thanks for the advice. I might do that. but then it might make my syns worse I guess as some things differ on red/green.
I'm worried now as it seemed simple but I have fallen at the first hurdle.:mad:Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

The only syns you have had are the tzatsiki and the hot choc which are the same syns on all plans. A tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil can be a HEB choice on all plans so you could count your oil as a HE rather than syns.
The plan can be hard to get your head around at the start and if possible I'd recommend joining a class even just to get the up to date pack and the introductory talk which explains the plan (albeit focusing only on EE rather than red/green). Failing that I found just reading back through old posts on forums such as this and minimins was really helpful in getting me used to the plan and feeling more familiar with it.
There is a also a great thread here on the minimins site which explains the SW diet for newcomers. You might find that useful, and if you have a chance browse around the site itself as i found it and this thread invaluable when I first started.
Don't stress about things like the apple juice, we all make mistakes like that even now and the only thing you can do is put it behind you and move on. Its not the end of the world and at least you know now what you're happy to use syns on and what you're not.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
BettyB: if you check the slimming world website you can go to a sample menu, without following the menu you can see the info they give (at the end) about as much SUGAR FREE drink etc as you wish .... might be helpful http://www.slimmingworld.com/healthy_eating/free_trial_menu.aspx
this aspect of the website is open to all, not just to members.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Don't worry about it- it's one thing on one day.. you'll get used to it!
When I first did SW a few years ago when it was Red and green days I got totally baffled with shepherds pie as it involved meat and potato and I thought I'd ruined it all etc etc... but still lost 4Ib!
BTW- on EE Shepherds Pie is fine now as you can have meat and potato together! I guess I just tried EE before anyone even thought of it! :rotfl:0 -
Thaks so much for your kind and helpful words laura2481
, blackberry-rum and c l a i r e
I'll check out those sites and arm myself with some sugar free squash. I know i shouldn't let 1 little mishap ruin the day but I felt a bit foolish that's all.Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
