I am really surprised that some people still buy/use/cook oven chips and syn them - surely it would be best to do SW chips and save the syns for other nice things?
.
I honestly prefer SW chips to oven ones but i worked late last night and my mum had already put the rustic chips in - it was merely out of[STRIKE] lazyness[/STRIKE] tiredness.
Today is EE
B - 28g Fruit and Fibre (1/2 heb) with milk (hea) 1 w/g crackerbread with lemon curd (1/2 heb + 1 syn)
L - Chicken breast skewers followed by an orange, apple and some grapes
D - Chicken Biriyani (2syns) its from a Sharwoods Biriyani sauce jar. The jar is 9.5 syns which i think is really good when it can easily serve 4/5 people. Will have this with side salad and will use my syns for poppadoms (argh!) and mango chutney (2) yum yum!All hail to the sale!!!!!!

might keep the munchie monster attacking when we go out for a walk -I was so hungry on yesterdays... my belly is used to its meal times
We took the dog a walk yesterday -up a really long slow dragging hill (that use to do me in) and I virtually skipped up it :jhubby even asked what the rush was as I was steaming up the hill.. its only a 45min loop but it was about 4000 steps and nearly all up hill -so it should help burn some wobble and do my bottom half some good;). We have decided that even when the dog goes back again we are going to keep doing the walk every evening.
right Im off..have a great day folks -and keep up the great work:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
hello again sorry to keep posting loads I was just wondering why the HeB is a bit of cereal plus a ryvita? Can it not be a bit more cereal and no ryvita?
Also, does anyone know if Nairns Oatcakes count as ryvita-type HeB food or not (I can't eat ryvita it's horrible!)
thanks again!

Hey guys
Can anyone tell me the syns in a tub of Tesco Spicy Couscous? It used to be really low syn, but I've just read the label and it says there's 1.6g of fat in a tablespoon so I'm wondering if they've changed the recipe. I hope not! It's gorgeous!0 -
Hello everyone.
I have just been on the slimming world website looking at the new Extra Easy plan (I got the the free 7 day plan to try) but I don't really undertsand it. I thought you guys might be the best people to ask!
I have an old SW book that has red and green days that I got years ago from a friend, but it seemed a bit complicated. So I'm interested in trying the easier option but I don't understand how it differs from the old system? Is it similar to either of the red/green days or just a combination?
Sorry if I'm not making sense, I guess all I'm really asking is how is it different and what are the rules?
thanks
B.
PS - also, i was trying to work out cereal - but the HEB option says 28g kellogs raisin wheats + 1 ryvita. But I didnt' have the ryvita and had more than 28g of cereal so does the extra cereal count as syns or does the fact that i didnt have the ryvita make all the cereal ok to be my HEB?? Sorry! Thanks!!!
Free on red = free on EE
Free on green = free on EE
One third of each meal should be superfree foods (so fruit and veg exc potatoes, peas, parsnips and sweetcorn)
Try to make superfree foods your first choice for snacks as well
5-15 syns a day
If a food has a syn value on red and green then count it as the lower of the two when on EE
As for the HEB, the ryvita is there to make up the fibre content so you can't just have a bit more cereal and call it a HEB. Any cereal you had over the listed 28g would need to synned I'm afraid0 -
thanks KarenGentles. I'm still trying to get my head around it all but that makes it look easier than I'm making it!
Going to give it a go - already worked out today's plan and syns so I can't do it wrong!
So I'll probably be back soon with more confusion!! hope that's ok.
B.
PS - is there anyone here who doesn't have the proper books etc knows how to work out syn values online or by some method??
SW guard the formula for calculating syns jealously so there's no surefire way of doing it on your own. But for things like snacks that don't qualify for a free food allowance you can use 1 syn = 20 calories as a rough guide although I wouldn't rely on it too much.0 -

Sorry the oatcakes don't count as a HEB as they don't have as much fibre in them.0 -

There IS a reason why you can't just have double the cereal BettyB (and I guess it's to do with weight loss or lack of it, but there's sugar in cereal isnt there, plus not as much fibre as you get in ryvita or scan bran). You can have 42g of All Bran if you like All Bran (I do, but 48g is a LOT to eat especially if you add fruit and yoghurt).
Nairns traditional oatcakes are 2 syns each on all programmes. I can't see mention of them in the list of HEBs but it's a long list in, as far as I can tell, no particular order.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!
