Slimming World - Extra Easy weight loss!!

In everyones opinion - is eating too much ff yogurts detrimental to weight loss?Is having too much sweetner possibly affecting WL?
When we've sat down and actually considered everything I was eating, I was over consuming. I was well within the constraints of Slimming World, but consuming around 2400 calories a day!
Everything (apart from water) that you put in your mouth has calories. All free foods, although free on the plan, have calories. Some of the fat free yogurts (especially Mullers) have very high calorie values, and the calories in sweetener per 100g is not much lower than sugar (although 100g of sweetener would go an awful lot further!)
For the past 2 weeks solid I have been following the plan but counting my calorie intake at the same time, aiming to keep my calories to 1800 or under, and I've lost 4lb in 2 weeks :T so it's made a big difference. I'm being much more cafeful about what i eat and quantities, and I am aiming to bring my calorie intake down slowly.
My personal view is that just because it is free on the plan doesn't necessarily mean it's a good option. Just something to bear in mind!0 -
My partner and I have been having this kind of discussion for the last month or so. No matter how closely I was sticking to the plan, the weight wouldn't shift.

Thank you - i might cut down on the yogurts - i have eaten 3 today which works out at roughly 250 calories!
How do you find out the calories in all the food you eat? I know the calorie content of the pre packed stuff - but how do you know about the fruit & veg & meat?0 -

Another thought ......
Surely we shouldn't have to calorie count with SW?
If we did, what is the point of SW, why don't we just calorie count all the time?
Confused0 -

I use THIS SITE - it's American but it gives a good idea and tallys up with most packet items. Makes for interesting reading!0 -

I was simply giving my view of things to an asked question.
No, on Slimming World you don't have to calorie count, but by my personal experiences, this is something I have found to help. Lots of people on here have discussed portion sizes, I look at it as calorie intake. No-one says you have to count calories, it's simply something I have done to try and work out why my loss had slowed down.
Recommended calorie intake for a woman is 2000 a day and I was well in excess of that on a green day. By looking at my food diary in a slightly different light, I am seeing food from a slightly different angle and making informed choices rather than seeing something as 'free'.
I'm no expert at this - I don't go to class, never have, never will - but I have changed my life with my weight loss and want to keep my journey going.
Never meant to confuse anyone!0 -

Didn't mean to offend - i'm just a little worried that i am sticking to the plan and not loosing! Especially with the wedding coming up - i want to look my best - maybe i am setting myself too hard to reach targets!
Sorry again x0 -
I think it's a good idea to combine both really - I'm no calorie counter but I know that for example if I was a massive fruit fan for instance that I could easily eat past my recommended daily allowance of calories. I think it's a matter of common sense at the end of the day - there is no diet in the world that can let you eat as much as you like, unless all you're consuming is air! So extra easy alongside portion & snack control is the way to go in my opinion.Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00

It's ok - no offence taken!
Recently has been my 2nd big plateau where I couldn't shift anything and I was convinced I was doing something wrong. Reading and re-reading the books didn't shed any light.
I know a few weeks back people were talking about portion sizes and eating until full etc. and it got my head ticking.
I find it very difficult to set targets as I always find life throws something in your way to prevent you achieving. My last 4 months have been the slowest since I started and it's frustrating. Luckily, I have nothing in particular to aim for, but it does make it hard when things aint happening.
I'm sure there'll be a few more views over the course of the evening, but please don't feel that what I've said should impact on everyone - this is simply what I have done but could well be looked into by others.
Good luck for your wedding - you'll look gorgeous however much/little you've lost - brides always do!0 -

Spot on! Everybody's body works differently so it's whatever suits the individual SW can seem 'easy' at times to just bob along, watch what you eat.
I can be like that with pasta - big handful with a salad, half a plate with bolognese. Really got me thinking, so we'll see how I get on over the next few weeks!0 -
