I have a question.... I have just come across something called 'Butter Buds' from Lakeland. Their website said .

.....Butter Buds contains five calories per serving. Each serving (one teaspoon) is equivalent in flavor to two teaspoons of butter and they are fat free.

Now I LOVE butter on jackets. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of these and would they be sin free???

Thank you in advance

Just looked these up on line and found the following:

Butter Buds Butter Buds, Natural Butter Flavour Granules, dried 2g packet

½ Syn on Extra Easy Original ½ Syn Green ½ Syn

Hope this helps, K

I've finally caught up on the thread as it always gets away from me!

I rejoined SW last Wednesday so tomorrow is my first weigh in. I've followed the extra easy plan most of the week and found it very easy - it feels like I must be doing something wrong :(

I suppose I just need to have faith that it will work. The problem is having done SW several times I can't quite get used to eating Green and Original foods together :o How is everyone else finding it?

i did it yesterday and thinking im not sure about this when i put everything in the pan, but gave it about 15 mins for everything to kind of soften up and blended it - and it was GORGEOUS, even hubby and daughter loved it:T

didnt add any other stuff to it had enough salt for us and the pickled oinions gave it a lovely spicy kind of taste or perhaps a bit kind of peppery,

but hey ho it went between us so off to get more today and cook it up later again,

had lost my way mid week but back again and lost 1 pound in today's weigh in

keep on having fun with it cheers MAZ

Well done on losing:T - that's great stuff - you must have really got back on track after losing your way mid week - that is so hard to do; so well done for getting back on track!:T

Just had soup with my 2 slices of Nimble wholemeal (b choice) & 2 laughing cow lights (a choice). Was super yummy and as someone else mentioned previous; tastes so much like Heinz Cream of Tomato which was my all time favourite soup prior to doing Slimming World!:D

going to do this soup today as the original four ingredients but was wondering when you mentioned added the kidney beans, were they blitzed too or did you leave them whole in the soup after you blitzed the original soup guess dont really matter just wondered what you did, cheers

have a fun day maz

I left them whole - aswell as the potatoes - just added a bit of texture and made it extra filling!

The HM KFC went well - apart from my OH (a KFC addict) didn't enjoy it! But me and my brother did - very nice - made it with chips and roasted courgettes, mushrooms & toms with mine!

Had quite a bad weekend - well a bad saturday night!
Went to a hungry horse pub and was on an original day so had the mixed grill - which included 3 onion rings - i swapped the chips for a jacket (heb) and peas for beans (heb) and there was a massive sausage - gave half to OH ......... so the main was ok but.........
I went downhill with the desert - i had the giant cookie dough cup - which is a cookie dough base with chocolate mousse icecream cream m&ms and chocolate sauce - i couldn't manage to eat it all but felt so very ill afterwards!!! :( Could have done with half the amount!

Apart from that i have stuck to the plan and having about 5 - 8 syns a day - but i wouldn't be surprised if i sts or put on!

Never mind ....

2 weeks & 6days until i am unleashed on Pizza Hut (birthday treat!!!) :j

Fingers crossed for WI tonight

Well done for all weight losses x

Carrying on from the butterbuds, no, I haven't tried them but think i should, has anyone tried the butter flavour fry light? I have only seen it in the magazine so haven't tried it yet, but thought that might be good. According to the magazine that was free, but maybe not.

Thank you everyone for the info on the ButterBuds. I'm going to order some to test them out.

Also had a lovely dinner last night.. H/M chicken Tikka with a huge salad and Jacket potato (I used JP as a HEb)

Here is the Tikka recipe if anyone wants it.

Chicken Tikka (I think this will be free on Red & EE)

Uncooked chicken cut into bite size chunks (the marinade below is enough for 3 or 4 breasts)

Marinade
Small tub of very low fat yoghurt (the Syn free kind)
Half a teaspoon of the following: Cumin, Garam Masala, Turmeric, ginger (fresh or jar)
Salt & pepper
Chilli powder (to your taste)
Good squeeze of lemon juice
1 clove of garlic chopped or crushed
Food colouring (orange)

Mix everything together and bung in your chopped chicken, mix it all up so all the meat is covered nicely. Cover and marinade in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

When you are ready, knock off any excess marinade from each piece and cook off either under the grill or a frying pan with frylite. (try to get it a bit charred too)

To serve, squeeze a bit more lemon juice over the top and sprinkle with fresh coriander.

I’m having an EE day today

Breakfast

28g cereal (HEB) with fat free natural yoghurt

Lunch

Tesco Tuna, Prawn & Veg Sushi – 1.5 syns
Banana

Tea/Dinner

Extra Lean Mince Beef Chili with rice

Snacks

2 Babybel Light out of HEA
1 Orange
Handful of Grapes white and black mixed

Welcome Trixietoes - those butterbuds sound like they could be quite good, I do like jacket potatoes but the temptation to add butter is just too great for me as they just don’t taste as nice without it! Can you let us know what they are like if you order them please?

re Butterbuds, I love them and wouldn't be without them. This week I've been sprinkling part of a sachet over fresh asparagus, mmmm ... wonderful. I don't count them as syns because one little packet will last me three days, it just gives a bit of a buttery taste to things. You can stir them into all sorts of things to get a buttery taste.

I'm a massive fan of pickled onion soup too, and have also converted two non-SW friends. (One said she did use raw carrots but blended them with the tinned stuff before heating, then it took hardly any cooking because the carrots had already been blitzed. That might help those of you who prefer to use real carrots).

PS of course you CAN add real butter to your jacket potatoes etc, because 10g (is that one ounce?) is only a few syns. It's for you to decide how to "spend" your syns; sometimes I do treat myself to real butter because let's face it, it's gorgeous :)
