Hi all, I'm back! I've been off line for ages. I'm surprised at the changes to the forum, looks different and I'm not sure I like it!
Anyways.....I've lost 4lb in the last fortnight and feel great.
Been good today, even ignored the cheese on offer in the office and have put some mullerlights in the freezer instead of having a Magnum.
Hope everyone is doing well? it's easier to eat healthily when it's hot I think. They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

Am really tired today, as yesterday we had powercut most of the afternoon then it came back on only to go off again about 11pm. Went to bed after settting mobile alarm only for power to come back on so set ordinary alarm. Just nodding off and power went off again only for it to come back on 10 mins later so reset alarm. It went off again then on again several times, I reset alarm twice then said sod it and spent half the night waking up to check if power was on. Did eventually come on but I was too knackered by then to do my alarm. So been really tired all day

Food today
B - weetabix [bs] milk [a] coffee
L - mugshot, babybel [a], muller, banana
T - handful of pasta, quorn sausage x2, stirfried carrot & onion, beans, tomato sauce [2 syns]
Snacks - apple, pineapple
Syns - 2
P.S. what have they done to the forum? If it aint broke don't fix it
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

I started slimming world last week and I'm doing ok I think but I'm struggling with the healthy extra a - I don't drink milk (I have a tiny amount on cereal) and I only like cheese if its cooked. I like the laughing cow triangles but I don't want to use my syns on ryvitas to put my triangles on as i'm not keen on them either. Is there anything else I can have ?0

I just had to tell someone - I have just got into an old favorite pair of size 14 jeans and they are comfy!
I've been in size 16's for about a year! I don't think it is weight loss tbh as I have only been on sw for a week and I had a sneak peek at the scales today and there hasn't been a seismic shift.
I think it is more to do with eating less bread and drinking more water - so less bloating. But whatever I am a happy bunny, and whatever my WI says tomorrow, I feel I am on the right track!
Well done, hun. It's such a great feeling, isn't it?
Well I felt compelled to post today's food since it's all been so nommy, and all low in syns too! EE day for me.

L-Cous cous, Chickpeas, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Tbsp LF Houmous (1.5 syn), 2 x Tbsp Honey and Mustard Dressing (2 syns)

You could put your cheese on a jacket potato, or on top of a pasta bake. Or just eat it spread between a couple of slices of cheese with a salad, or melted into a bowl of synfree soup, or just eat them as they are, or melt them over your vegetables....When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -

Yoghurt? Or you can put cheese cubes into hot soup and they melt beautifully and deliciously ...... (I've gone all thoughtful, give me a moment) .... or if you like fish, smoked haddock cooked with some liquid and some cheese is very nice. I also like cheese grated over chilli con carne but not everyone does. Once grated you can pop it under the grill to melt it before eating if you wish.
This list might help although it goes beyond what Slimming World recommends as Healthy Extra As, but as long as you are getting sufficient calcium one way or another without jeopardising your weight loss you should do ok. Also, you can buy delicious fizzy calcium tablets to add to water but they would be syns I should imagine. (Actually I just Googled calcium tablets and there seem to be questions about health risks so don't take that as a recommendation unless your GP thinks you need them.):jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Do you like cheese on toast? You could have it for lunch or as a snack.
If I don't want to use all my HEB I sometimes use one slice of a 400g whole meal loaf as half a healthy extra, which leaves half HEB for something else (usually one weetabix for me)
Or if you don't like milk, what about using your milk allowance to make HM yogurt?
Or you could stir the milk into soup to make a creamy soup.
Or mash the cheese triangles into some quark, add some chopped chives, or spring onions, and you have a dip (thin down with a little ff yog if needed)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Hi thanks for the suggestions. Its not really felt like creamy soup weather. I have been having cheese on toast, I stirred laughing cow cheese in to hm coleslaw with my dinner which was ok but the list says i'm supposed to have 5 triangles. I guess i will just have to be learn to be more creative with cream cheese
I do like yoghurt can I count that as a healthy A? do I have to make it myself?
My consultant was quite firm that i had to have my healthy A, to get my calcium from a milk (or milk substitute product). i do drink milk in tea but only with lots of sugar and I don't like tea with sweetners so i'm giving tea a miss. My sounding like a right fussy so and so now!0
