Coming on for a whinge. Put ON 2lb :(:( It is my * week but last time I STS so can't blame that. I have had terrible munchies for a few days now and been resisting and just eating fruit but succumbed to a couple of crumpets and a packet of crisps yesterday and now feel like am paying for it. My Dad who told me AGAIN how naughty he had been all week lost 4lb!!! I nearly whacked him when he got off the scales!

Back on track today and more dtermined than ever. Couldn't find the cajun shots Ali but there is a small bottle in the herb section of Shwartz Cajun powder stuff - would that be the same do you reckon? Bought some fat free Irish yoghurt in Tescos as they were on offer for £1 ooooooh so creamy and yummy - just going to double check they are free.

Can anyone pm me the password for the SW site? I forgot to check it when I weighed today and didn't stay for the meeting, have messaged my consultant on FB but she will probably be out all day and wanted to check the syns calculator for a few things I bought in Icelands. Stuffed peppers were one, looked nummy!

    Hi everyone,

Trying to be extra good this week - limiting myself to about 6 syns a day and eating lots and lots of SS veg

    Green day today
B - 1 x weetabix (1/2 heb) & some milk (i mix my semi skimmed with water to make it go further!) with sliced banana
L - Pasta, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots with hm tomato sauce (tomatoes, courgettes, carrots, aubergine all blitz together & baked beans)
D - my pickled onion (not the only ingredient) soup with 3 pagen crispbreads (heb)
S - carrot sticks with garlic/chilli quark dip - 4 x scan bran with white chocolate options quark (2.5) and some type of chocolate or sweet!

mrsiwannabefree & aliscrapper - i thought the cheesy mug shots where 2 syns each - might need to double check it before you eat them!

millymoomoo - recipe for alpen cheesecake please - i love cheesecake and alpen lights, so to mix them together mmmmmmmmm mouth watering just thinking about it!

zzzlazydaisy - have you tried the scan bran? you could try it with a quark topping or any fruit (frozen strawbs or rasps) or try the muller light ice cream - cadbury choco eclairs - 1 syn each! or try my soup on green/ee day

    2 x cans chopped tomatoes
    1 x can baked beans
    1 x can carrots
    1 x pickled onion

    Cook, then blitz!
I add tabasco sauce, pepper, chillies, garlic to mine and as i buy the tesco value pickled onions and they are small i usually add about 5 -10 depending on the mood!
  • Hi and well done to all the losers and those managing to stick with it! I weighed in yesterday exactly the same as last week and I am gutted - I really thought I had lost. It is my * week but still, the size I am, I would have thought that I would still lose. I think my biggest problem is that I have big portions and I don't think EE is any good if you eat loads. To be honest I am fed up with it and don't know whether to switch back to green and red days. The whole thing about SW was that you could eat as much as you want of free foods but that just doesn't work with EE I don't think. I am going to give EE one last try and then switch if I don't lose next week!

    Today have had:

    Breakfast - milky coffee (hea)

Lunch - sliced roast beef, slice of ham, hard boiled egg, big salad, few steamed new potatoes, extra light salad cream (2 syns)

    Don't know about dinner yet!

Hope you are all doing better than me!

    P. S. Lisa - I think mugshots are absolutely vile too!

  • Good luck with finding a nice bra! Online might be a good place to start and maybe also try and get professionally measured - you might not be the size you think you are!

I am the same re portion control. But when did SW be about portion control. It was always about - join SW and you can eat unlimited amounts of free food and not gain weight. Then EE came in and it is really about portion control.

They use to say SW wasn't a diet - it is now!

Just read this Marion and I agree with you wholeheartedly!

Hi Nessie, as far as I can see the cheesecake is literally:

2 Alpen light bars crushed up and put into the bottom of a dish. Pop in fridge for a bit. Then, 1 tub of Quark, 1 or 2 mullerlights (choose your own flavour) and sweetner to taste all mixed in together. Cover Alpen base with it then top with fruit of your choice eg. sliced banana or strawberries. Chill in fridge.

Syns would be 0 if you use your two Alpens as a hexB
    6 syns if you don't.

I've never tried EE but from what I have been reading I don't think it would suit me so I'm going to stick to mainly green days with the occasional red.

Up until now I've always done EE and defended it ! But I think I have to admit my weigh loss is not as good as I would like . Despite sticking to ee 100%, that is syn, he's AND the 1/3 rd superfree rule I put on 2.5 pounds last night. Its not my * week (though I admit it is in the post) and even at that I've never had such a gain.

On reflection I think i eat to much. For example (by the way this is delicious) i made pasta mixed with salmon steak, gherkin, peas and fromage frais (with some spices) and had it with a big pile of salad. However if I'd had just the salad and salmon I'd have probably been satistfied too, so essentially the 300 odd cals in the pasta was 'extra' that i could have done without. Now don't get me wrong EE does work, I've lost 2 stone since christmas. I just think, for me if i do EE I can't expect a weight loss of more than 1 pound a week.

So I'm going to do mainly red days with occasional green/EE and see how I get on. I think its a harder diet to stick to which is why I hope to get better losses and hopefully look reasonable in my holiday gear. Fingers crossed!!

Oh, Mug shots are ok if you add a little soy sauce and some chilli - but then if you are going to go to that effort its almost as easy to make real food

    Afternoon all

Sorry for those getting cr*ppy results when they know they have stuck to it ..

I have been reading the EE debate and Im wondering if Im getting on with it as I haven't done slimming world since I was 14 -many moons ago -well 25 years :rotfl:... so I have no conflict between green/original against EE ... NOW I was a WWer many times and when they swapped from having "so many selections" of each food group to the "point system" I had a real hard time adjusting -so I guess thats the same thing

I have to admit though that even thought there are "free" foods I still exercise control over them....(veggies are the exception ;)) so when I do pasta/rice etc I weigh it out -I have found an amount that satisfies me but doesn't leave me stuffed and thats what I pretty much stick to (50g dry weight) -also with the meat element I quite often find that even SW recipes are too much -the Indian patties, Lancashire hotpot are 2 off the top of my head that I have found to big to manage... and I have a recipe on my meal list for next week that says 2x7oz pork steaks per portion  -so even though Im being told I CAN eat it I will only do 1 ....
So I guess what my ramble is trying to say is that Im loving SW but with the addition of some controls (which for a lot of you who have done SW before isn't exactly SW)

Right off to do a bit more on the wii ;)
Hope everyone is feeling a bit more optomistic soon :D

I may have missed this, and although I know vaguely what they're about as a 'newbie' to Slimming World I'm not entirely sure, so could somebody please explain red & green days to me? If it fits in with how I like to eat I may give them a go; EE is working for me at the moment but I wouldn't mind losing a few pounds extra and as it's all that's ever been taught in class that's all I know.

Finding it hard today, I mentioned earlier that I have days where I'm starving all day and today is one of them (maybe I jinxed myself?) I'd say it was all in my head if it wasn't for the fact I can hear my tummy growling at me! Only 2 hours 10 minutes until tea time...

In other news, I don't think this has been mentioned yet but Sainsburys are doing BOGOF on 6 packs of Muller Lights until 08/06/10. Considering they're giving away Sex & the City 2 movie tickets inside I'm going to end up taking all my friends for free at this rate!
