    Morning all

Aliscrapper -ooohhhh exciting..a wedding :j-I find bra shopping a pain in the backside -mainly because I have a back like a russian shot putter :rotfl:-have you checked good ole Evans? there are quite a few places on line that do fuller figure sizes, but you can't try before you buy that way can you.... Hope you find something you like...

Well I have got up in a great mood again -don't know what that is all about :p...any how my EE meal plan for today is:-
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • lemon juice in warm water
    • 2 weetabix (B)
    • 125ml semi (3)
    • apple
    • 1 Indian curry pork pattie
    • sauted potatoes
    • salad
    • orange
    • pasta
    • chicken, mushroom, asparagus, peas, sweetcorn in a creamy sauce (2)
    • fruit
The curried pattie+potatoes are left from dinner last night -I could only manage half of my meal -I only did half the mix in the first place but it was still too much -so next time I will do the same 1/2 mix -but make 6 patties and freeze 2 ;)
They are rather nice too -and we think they would be nice if you were having a BBQ -they are really juicy.

Im planning a day on teh sofa x-stitching -but I will no doubt get some wii fitted in too -I have become addicted in just 1 week :p..
Right I will get off and get my brekkie -hope everyone has a good day..

    Hi

Sorry I've not been around the last couple of days. Been madly trying to find undies for my wedding day which is only 5.5 weeks away! Went to my local shopping centre and after having lost 5 stone 12 pounds the shop assistant said that they didn't do "bras big enough for me".:( Was very upset so have done a 3 hour round bus trip today to try and find some.

Will read back ASAP; but well done to all the losers and for those of you struggling well done for hanging on in there!:T

Got weigh in tomorrow. Very anxious. A few months' back it turned out I was gaining weight, altho I was sticking to the Plan - my portion control was unfortunately at fault. As I have a massive appetite I get very paranoid about whether I'm eating too much and thus find the scales only tell me the true answer which is why I'm in a state most of Thursday!

Good luck with finding a nice bra! Online might be a good place to start and maybe also try and get professionally measured - you might not be the size you think you are!

I am the same re portion control. But when did SW be about portion control. It was always about - join SW and you can eat unlimited amounts of free food and not gain weight. Then EE came in and it is really about portion control.

They use to say SW wasn't a diet - it is now!

I'm ok thanks! I am a bit cynical about SW at the moment though:( I have been to class every week and paid my money every week and have put on 2 stone in the last year. I know that most weeks I follow the plan to the letter and I don't lose weight. So then I tweak the plan for a bit and don't lose weight, then I go right off plan - and don't lose weight!
I reckon in the last year I have lost and gained the same few pounds over and over again but slowly putting on more than I am losing, hence the overall gain.

My GP put me on Xenical which is the prescription strength version of alli. I have been on them for 3 months - not lost weight! I rarely eat fat so they don't work for me. I have tried EE and tried going back to red and green days but with the same non results.

Just fed up and sorry for myself I guess:(

just my two pennorth, but whatever SW might say I still think one needs to use a bit a common sense (and I'm not saying any of you DON'T use a bit of common sense, honest!) re free food - just because it's free one shouldn't eat a gigantic plate of pasta surely? If you make a SW tomato sauce and vegetables to go onto the pasta, that's superfree usually, so pile THAT on top of a normal portion of pasta. When you think about it, even Italian restaurants don't serve gigantic portions of pasta - that is the starchy portion of the meal to bulk it out. I know I sometimes eat too much, because if there's only a bit left I will finish it up whereas I should either save it, bin it, or offer it to the cats :) I am trying to retrain (and restrain) myself and am also using waaaaaay more superfree foods with each meal than just free, iyswim. It's slow but sure, one pound a week. I just hope it continues that way because I am planning a Celebrating Two Stone Loss Party in early August :)

It must be very demoralising to NOT lose when you are putting so much effort in though, I know how I feel if I have a gain or a STS. Big hugs Marion, you've always been an inspiration to me, I'm sorry you are feeling down about it.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Is there a Bravissimo store anywhere near you Aliscrapper? (http://www.bravissimo.com/shops/default.aspx) I've been buying my bras from there for years, they have some really pretty styles. The online service is good too if there isn't a shop close by or they haven't got what you want in stock.

With regards to portion control, I think EE works well for me because this isn't really an issue I have... it's more the uncontrollable snacking that's the problem! However when I'm unsure what a 'normal' portion should be (I had this problem with pasta recently) then I use something like http://www.lovefoodhatewaste.com/perfect_portions to give me a clue.

I think no matter what any diet claims there's no way of eating unlimited amounts of food without putting on weight - at the end of the day if you consume more calories than you burn you'll gain, even if what you're eating is healthy. I was always under the impression SW worked through satiety, so by encouraging you to eat foods that keep you fuller for longer you hopefully reduce the amount you eat and in turn the calories you consume? As we all know it doesn't always work though, I still have days when I'm starving hungry all day!

I'd echo the above about bravissimo they are FAB!!!! I was encouraged to go there my my friends who all loved it. I didn't think I was big enough to shop there as they start at cup size D and I was wearing a C. It turnd out that my 36C's are actually 32F's!!!! I really struggle to find anything in my size on the highstreet but bravissimo always comes up trumps. They're not cheap but they are really good quality and the service is excellent.

In other news......I've made a discovery.....how to make your HEA of cheese go miles further! I made a topping for pork chops the other night that involved a small amount of grated cheese, cottage cheese, caramelised onions (I used some onion chutney), mustard powder and chopped thyme. I then put this mix ontop of the chopps and baked in the oven. There was some mix leftover so yesterday I spread it on a slice of tast and melted it under the grill.....yummy cheese on toast but with only a teeny bit of cheese.

This got me thinking that you could use cottage cheese to make your 'proper' cheese go further in sandwiches too. Cottage cheese, grated cheese and onion with lettuce sounds scrummy to me!!!
  • Morning everyone

Weighed myself this morning and have lost 1lb - ok, not earth shattering, but am quite pleased as I find it really hard to lose anything normally with medication I am on etc and the fact that I dont have as much to lose as I did when I first lost 5 stone. So, the way I am looking at it is that if I can eat the way I have the past week and lose a pound then I am onto a winner!! I have eaten so much more and feel that I am not denying myself huge food groups anymore and havent felt deprived, so I think that is half the battle tbh.

I would love to lose 5lb in a week, but realistically I dont think I will as I have dieted for so long, there is not the "shock" weight loss I had when I was alot bigger and had never dieted before, and even though at a pound a week the weight loss would be slow, I would rather do it slowly and be happy at the same time than starving and lose it all and put it all back on within the space of a month!

So, feeling quite positive really! Fingers crossed it carries on!

Have a good day everyone xx
