They're 7 syns. I know this off by heart because they're my favourites! (My OH is always complaining about me stealing them from his multipacks
)
Now I know the crunch cornflake ones are only 7 I might have to hunt some out (once I have got through the ones in the fridge)-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hi guys,
I've not posted for a few days, as I have been doing a lot of thinking about extra easy and sw in general. I was put off at the class because some of it does not ring true. I have lost half a stone in a year and put it back on, I really think that changing your eating mindset for life, but eating normally and in moderation is the answer, for me anyway.
I made some home made soup and used a ham hough. This was classed as having syns. Why? Because of the fat (which wasn't much and was skimmed off) and the marrow in the bone. Why then is it okay to boil a chicken carcass and use that as stock - surely there is marrow in chicken bones as well?? Also, there's lots of contradictions. In my class, they make pasta in sauce into quiches (not for me) and say it is okay to eat chickens from the rotisserie in the supermarket - according to info on here, it is not. Also, I have never been told that 1/3 of my meals should always consist of fruit and veg.
I am still going there to get weighed as I am encouraging my sister more than anything, and I am her lift to the class. Also, I like lots of the recipies and have tried a few from this thread. I'll still read and post, but I think that doing my own thing and excercising will stand me in better stead.
Well done to everyone that is losing. x0 -
Lynne, i have ham hough soup sitting waiting to be eaten and was also wondering how i would syn it
I generally only use "proper" stock for soup . Good luck with what ever you decide to do diet wise
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Yes, I have been feeling the same. I don't think EE is suitable for everyone - I for instance have gained weight since starting EE:eek: I will be stopping classes when my countdown runs out next week and will just be doing my own thing. I also think that for women especially, that one HA is not enough. Also although they say you can eat all the free food (meat and pasta etc.) that you need to fill you up, you will in fact gain weight if you eat all you want! When I looked at my diet I found that on EE I was eating almost twice as many calories as I did before - hence my weight gain.
I also find that my consultant doesn't come and speak to you if you are obviously having problems with the plan. My friend gained for 8 weeks in a row, always stays to class and not once has she had a phone call, an email or a face to face chat about her failure to lose weight!:(When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
Lynne out of interest have you tried green and red as opposed to EE?
I am trying green until next friday !A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Awww Lynne((((hugs)))). I can kind of empathise with feeling there are lots of contradictions but my way of dealing with it is to just look at the reasoning behind each and then make my own mind up. I've posted before about not synning rotisserie chickens etc and part of the reasoning for me is that chosing and eating that is preferable to the sandwich/crisps/sausage roll etc that I might otherwise be tempted to grab ie in the grand scheme of things its still a healthier choice and thats a habit I want to try and get into.
Maybe as Zippy suggested green days/original days might suit you better? I know that EE is not for me although I have 1 or 2 of those days a week to fit in with my OH. I, in contrast to a lot of people, find EE more restrictive with the reduced HE options and the 1/3 rule (even though I eat lots of fruit/veg anyway I don't like being told I have to have it all the time iyswim). Also I am much more wary of portion control on EE as mixing the food groups to me means the potential to gain weight if i'm not careful and I prefer to just eat however much I want without having to think about it. I'm 5 weeks in and i'm only now starting to feel ok about not being an EE fan - at every class my consultant expresses surprise that i'm sticking to green mostly and tries to encourage me to try EE more:mad:
I like the variety 3 different plans gives you, so to me it seems a shame to stick to one all the time and I also like to think that changing them around confuses my body a little and shakes things up:)
Oh and just on the subject of the 1/3 superfree at each meal my consultant advises that you should look at your day overall rather than a meal at a time which is different to what others say but seems to be working for the EE peeps at my class who are having good weight loss following this advice*shrugs*
Good luck with whatever you decide to do anyway hun and i'm glad you've decided to still stick around on the thread:D:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -

My consultant said the other night that the rotisserie chicken is something like 32syns:eek: (cant quite remember the syns but it was ridiculously high ) the supermarkets inject it with sugar.
Sorry to hear so many have bad experiences with their consultant. Mine is fab. She phoned me first week to ask how I was getting on, the third week she text me to congratulate me on the weight loss ( I didn't stay for class that evening). She takes her time and do help people who doesn't loose weight by suggesting moving from EE to red and green instead or to write down a diary again so she can see where they go wrong etc...0 -

Thanks to everyone who suggested I try Weetabix with yoghurt instead of milk - I shall be giving that a try tomorrow morning. Unfortunately my cravings for toast with lashings of marmite seemed more appealing today when I woke up!Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00 -
daisy, i don't always buy extra lean mince as my butcher only sells lean for instance so I just drain any fat off and count it as free. I find better quality mince has less fat anyway regardless of what it is labelled as.
Decided on a green day here:
B: FF yoghurt w/ blueberries (ran out of weetabix:() Skinny cappuccino (HEA1)
L: Wholemeal roll (HEB1) with diarylea light (HEA2) & pasta salad
S: Pineapple, Fibre Plus Bar (HEB2)SW chips, egg, beans, mushrooms, 2 x meat free burgers (2 syns)
